I hired Joel Hoffman to handle my child custody case that involved abuse. I was extremely impressed with how well Joel handled my case in court which lead to a positive ruling in my favor. Joel is very professional and spent the time needed to really know my case. I would recommend using Joel for all your family law matters.

Joel has been extremely patient with the ex in our case. Her stall tactics and lies only made Joel work harder to get us a fair agreement. Joel’s assistant has been very helpful in getting us the time we need with him and making sure all details are prepared for him to represent us fully. Joel pays attention to even the smallest blips by the opposite party and makes sure all evidence gets presented in a useful manner. We would definitely recommend Joel to everyone.

I hired Joel Hoffman after representing myself for eight long months. I agreed on the divorce because I wanted it done however my ex wanted full custody of our child and I was not willing to negotiate. I was nervous because I only has 2 trials left - At the first trial we were sitting in the lobby waiting for court to start and another Lawyer walked out of the court room with his client, took me by my hand and told me that i should not worry that I was in the best of hands that Joel is the best lawyer in Arizona! The second and final trial joel was up against the nastiest lawyer i have ever seen in my life - she kept trying to cut Joel off and tlak over him she pressed for time and tried to waste tons so the Judge would not hear my testimony... Not only did Joel stay professional which i feel is a reflection of me as I hired him to represent me and stand in my position, but he kept going he didnt waste time he got through merely everything and he didnt nickel and dime me. Joels pre-trial statements and the amount if time he spent catching up to speed with my case all the way to his personal emials after court encouraging you and how fast he returns calls and emails to his staff and the atmosphere and his positiove light every time you speak to him he gives you a hug after court and is very supportive of your emotional state throughout the process. Joel is the best lawyer anyone could ask for between him and Mitch Cohen I dont know what I would have done! I appreciate Joel and all he has done for me and my little family! Joel was the 2nd of 4 attorneys i interviewed to represent me with my divorce. I hired him without hesitation because of his extensive background in family law, and professional demeanor. Due to property and other financial matters, I had a complex situation. He is an excellent negotiator, and because of that we were able to settle my divorce outside of the courtroom. I am glad he was on my team, and I would not hesitate to refer him as a counsel with any family law situation.

I interviewed/consulted with Mr. Hoffman about taking my case. He seemed very knowledgeable and genuine about representing my case. So I gave him a $5000 retainer and forwarded him all my documentation to date. Then I get a call from him saying he's leaving on vacation on Thursday and that his associate Phil would be calling me on Monday. Well, Phil called on Monday and said he would be working on my case with Mr. Elway, who by the way, charges $150 MORE an hour than my interview with Mr. Hoffman. Phil then proceeded to tell me the estimate for my case was now $10,000 to $20,000 more than Mr. Hoffman's estimate during the initial interview/consultation. If you read a bait and switch in this, you're not the only one. Only it was my pocket it was coming out of. I don't mind paying for a hardworking trustworthy attorney. I just wasn't getting that feeling from this attorney or the others in his firm.
