Hands down the best criminal defense team in Phoenix! Over the years I've retained over a dozen CDA's and RJ was hands down the best! You will get the best defense there is. I was charged back in 2006 with 4 felonies and RJ managed to get me off on those charges he did so without taking the case to trial!

After 3 Attorneys, Finally the Right One! My husband was involved in a very serious and complicated case facing several high level felonies and mandatory years of prison. My family and I never thought we would need the services of a criminal defense lawyer.  As blue and white collar workers we were living the American dream until one of my uncles was stopped for driving too slow (as he made his way home from a church function).  Because of a prior felony from 1992, for which he served time, my uncle had his residency taken away and was deported. He illegally entered the country over 10 years ago and had been working and paying his taxes while supporting his family ever since. The traffic officer determined my uncle was here illegally. The illegal entry, which was aggravated by the prior felony, would lead to a possible sentence of at least 63-78 months in federal prison. We meet with the public defense attorney followed by a private attorney and they were steering us in the wrong direction.  Frustrated, we sought the services of Mr. Suzuki through a recommendation from someone who had acquired his services before. Mr. Suzuki reassured us this was an unusual case and he would do his best to get him the least amount of time.  While our family was still disappointed we put all of our trust in him. He dedicated all the time and effort necessary to present a solid case based on my uncle's great character.  At sentencing the federal judge understood the case Mr. Suzuki presented and not only eliminated any additional time and went against the probation and federal prosecutor’s recommendation, but wished my uncle well.  My uncle got time served and was free to go back to Mexico, which was all we wanted at that point.  We were overwhelmed with joy. Mr. Suzuki knew it was possible but didn't want to get our hopes up.  He was always realistic and sincere about his concern for our family and my uncle. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. In December 2012, my son overdosed on meth 911 was called and cancelled due to myself taking him to the hospital. That however did not stop the officers from still coming to my home and completely taking out my front entry security screen door, interior door and frame when my son and I returned home there were at least eight police cars in front of our home with all of the officers roaming around my now unsecure home, they did not arrest my son however they searched and seized marijuana and the remainder of the meth from my sons room and left that night telling us they would forward the case to the County attorney if charges were to be filed we would get notice in approximately 60 days. Notice did not come until April 2013, my son had 3 felony charges filed against him I knew I had to help him but really was not sure I could as I was only part time employed, disabled and have been unsuccessful gaining full time employment. Anyway I set out with my son and started interviewing attorney's we found one in Scottsdale first and started the process but ended up canceling the retainer as the attorney honor the fees I had been quoted instead the assistant wanted me to sign the agreement "As Is" which to me was a binding contract if signed I had to pay what was on the contract, so again we were looking for an attorney 4 days prior to my son's first hearing, on this day I had 5 interviews set up Matthew Bartz was our third for the day, my son and I met with both Matthew Bartz and Richard Suzuki, we were floored at both, I have never met with attorney's who really cared about the person first and how they are doing, are they getting better, extremely personable, then to top off reviewed everything that happend and step by step explained what the possible outcomes could be and how we could approach the case, we hired them on the spot, not only are they excellent attorneys but were also very willing to work with me financialy. Matthew Bartz represented my son we were so impressed not only was he with us every step of the way but my son really needed someone to hear what he was saying, but to respect him and guide him through what the outcome of everything my son thought of doing to make the right choice and the best choice. My son chose to enter the TASC program of which we are still holding are breath on, he tested positive for alchohol on his first test, our hope and support are high.
