Ms Bruemmer represented me on a civil litigation matter and I'm so glad I found her. She was not only helpful in guiding me in my legal process, she also made sure I wasn't left in doubt on the progress of my case. I'm also a court employee and she is an exceptional find. I'd go back to her without hesitation. Thank you Florence! :)

To say Florence restored my faith in lawyers is an understatement. I was in search of a lawyer to help me through a civil case and Florence was the only one who took the time to look over my case and respond to my inquires. She not only responded but she responded in great detail. I knew right there she was special. I hired her and we were victorious on that case. I have been consulting with her ever since on various issues. I am now currently involved in another legal matter which she is helping me on. As always, she has been beyond helpful. I ask a lot of questions and she has always been just an email away from answering every single one. What I think is the most amazing thing about Florence, is her communication. She consistently responds within hours, at most, to my numerous emails. I personally find this absolutely incredible. I feel blessed to have found Florence and if I am ever in need of legal assistance, in any fashion , she is my girl!

My experience as a client of Florence was better than I could have ever expected. She represented me and time and time again she excited my expectations. She is one of the most professional, knowledgeable and relentless attorneys i have had the pleasure of working with. You can have peace of mind knowing Florence will work day and night to get all the facts, do her due diligence, and create the most compelling case to fight for justice. I cannot recommend her enough! It has been an absolute pleasure working with someone who is consistently professional, responsive, transparent and very reliable. Its hard to find someone who has all the qualities to be a successful attorney, and Florence does just that. Trust her to represent you, you won't regret it!

Extremely Satisfied, I was pulling into a storage facility that was flooded out due to rain. I was unaware of the actual depth and there was no closure, markings, nor warnings. My car was sunk disabling the car and ruining the engine. This was something I attempted to resolve myself. With absolutely no success. The facility was not responsive, did not take any helpful action and blamed me for the indecent. Refusing to take any responsibility and promising me i would not receive a dime. After weeks of run around I hired Florence Bruemmer and Attorney's. I could not have been more happy about the decision and out come of the case. Not only did she take all the stress out of the process she was calm, clear and razor sharp about the steps we were going to have to go through. Sure enough she worked the case until they folded They came to realized she was not going away. That she was prepared to take this all the way to trial and that they would not have any chance of a win or positive outcome. The settled for much, much more than they promised they would never pay! -- So happy, I was able to get a car and was made whole once again. --- Thank you Florence!!

My husband and I did our wills with Bethany and we were very pleased with the service. Bethany took the time to walk us through each document and was very patient and answered any questions that we had in a way that was very easy for us to understand. She was flexible, responsive, and kept on top of us to ensure we were completing the documents timely. She is also very affordable. I would definitely work with Bethany again.

mrs. Jacobs was my attorney for several corporation formations, small legal issues, and estate planning. From my will and trust, to a simple demand letter, to representing my small business corporation she was there when I had questions, fought for me when I needed it, and provided the legal guidance using everyday language without sounding too legalese. Her rates are reasonable (her estate planning isn't much more than the do it yourself stuff available) and she always made me feel like an important client. Highly recommended.

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Phoenix, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
