Shane was referred to me after a car accident that happened my senior year of high school. Right after the accident Shane took the time to explain how the procedure worked and to not stress about our medical expenses and to focus on getting better. Following the accident I attended physical therapy for three months and saw four total physicians. Shane took detailed account of all of the expenses and physicians. Although the process took some time Shane was very detailed. Any time I had questions or needed to reach out he was there to follow up with me. I was very happy with how smooth this case was and I’m very happy with the results he got me from my case. I’d recommend his services to anyone that needs help after an accident. Due to him I was able to recover from my accident, have proper care, and make a little bit of money to pay off my new car and still have left over. Even if results take time he will make sure he gives you the best care starting out and all the way to the end of our case

Mr. Warner was recommended to me after I was involved in an auto accident where the other driver turned into me and totaled my car. From the very beginning Shane’s personal concern was evident when he made sure that my medical needs were taken care of. The case proved quite challenging, but Shane persisted in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Thanks to his perseverance the settlement was significantly more than I had anticipated. I would highly recommend Shane Warner for legal representation.

I was the victim of a car accident where the driver blew through a red light and hit me on the passenger side, in which at the time I was 28 weeks pregnant. Shane was very professional and knowledgeable regarding auto accident injury claims and how to navigate the claim to get the best possible results. He made sure I was taken care of medically by referring me to physicians and a physical therapy practice. He did not back down and was very thorough when pursuing a settlement on my behalf. He was able to get the maximum amount for me due to his negotiating skills and expertise. Thanks again Shane for your dedicated work.

I was the victim in a car accident of an uninsured wrong way drunk driver with no insurance last Easter and Shane managed to pull out two separate disbursement payouts for me, one from my insurance policy and one from the criminals pocket. He played hard ball and made sure I was getting the highest settlement I deserved. He set me up with all sorts of medical care early on and took care of me every step of the way. Received routine updates on my case that lasted a little over a year. Shane knows his stuff and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anybody I personally know. Thanks again Shane

How I got to know and hire Shane started with my Father, after working professionally together years before and then representing him in his own injury case. When I found myself in a motorcycle accident after a driver pulled out in front of me from a stop sign, my dad sent me what I needed to contact Shane. I was reluctant at first because I didn't feel it was needed but after a few days of pain not getting better I made the call to Shane. As soon as I detailed the events and what I was going through Shane instantly rolled his sleeves up and jumped right in. Knowing I had retained representation to handle the insurance companies on my behalf lifted some of the stress I was about to go through over the next year and a half. Shane will leave no stone unturned in getting what he values your case at and will not back down from insurance adjustors when they come in with a offer that is not adequate. It may feel like this process takes a long time and will feel tiresome at times but that is because Shane is very detailed in what he does and what he will send to insurance companies. I can not thank Shane and his team enough for what they have done for me and being there with me every step of the way from the accident, to surgery, during my recovery, and beyond.

Colin is so much more than just a "Family Law Lawyer". He is an extremely kind and empathetic human being. He said my situation was "unique" but because of his knowledge of the law he was able to help me and my son. He is honest and explained everything in a way I completely understood. I was never left with the feeling of anything but complete understanding. I knew exactly what was happening and why and what to expect next. Never a moment spent wishing i would have asked him something, except maybe how was his day going............... I will, without a doubt, never forget everything he has done and all the knowledge he has shared to make this nightmare become just another part of my journey through life.

I contacted the law firm to help yes with an emergency situation with our son. Alan was so helpful and was able to work us in the next morning. He is very easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and worked very quickly on our case. He’s very easy to get in contact with and answered our calls, that has never happened with attorneys I've hired in the past. I would highly recommend Alan, I can’t say enough good things about him.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Scottsdale, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
