Michael made me feel comfortable from the start. His honesty and confidence put me at ease. He is a very skilled attorney and deftly handled my case which allowed me to avoid jail time and fines. I can't recommend him enough. If I ever need a lawyer again he will be the first I call.

At age 65 I was devastated at my very first and only DUI arrest. I actually chose Mike based on other reviews for him. He has guided me through the obstacles, the possibilities as well as the potential downfalls! Great job, and never left me thinking I was alone or going to fail...that being said - he was honest and open as to what could happen. My case has been decided with the best outcome and he remains to reach out as the process is progressing. I highly recommend Mike and his staff! Superb! You will not be disappointed!

If you're looking at reviews for DUI lawyers, you're probably in a tough spot. I was in the same spot that you were late last year. I retained Michael for my case, and I couldn't be more satisfied with his performance. Living out of state, I was worried about having to come back for repeated court visits. Michael and Anna kept me updated throughout, and used a helpful online case manager to help me keep track and review all documents. I promise you: Stop looking for anybody else. Michael has the experience, professionalism and empathetic touch that makes him the best attorney you could hire for your case. I'm seriously having trouble even reaching for the words that will communicate how good he was to work with. Hire him. You will not regret it.

Mike & Anna care about you and will fight for you. I was facing a 2nd offense super extreme and was terrified. Mike went out of his way to contact my DUI lawyer from Maine and got my first one thrown out. He then kept fighting and I received the best possible scenario for a plea deal with a first offense minimum. 2 days jail time and 7 days on alcohol monitoring. From the beginning that seemed like a dream come true from what I was originally facing. Completely worth every single penny I paid to hire him. He was clear with everything and Anna his assistant is there with an incredible amount of knowledge as well and completes everything in a timely manner. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome and I strongly believe if I didn't hire him it wouldn't been as nearly as good. You will not have any doubts if you choose Mike & Anna to represent you in this awful time!!!

From the first initial contact with Mr. Munoz and his phone call I knew he was going to take my case as high priority long story short I confessed like an idiot to the police about two felonies and Michael got me off with two years probation and no jail time ... I got the Break of a life time to start fresh with my life ... I honestly thought prison time was going to be required ... Tell your friends and family to keep Mr. Munoz in mind anytime his services are needed he won't let you down and he is genuine and treats you with respect and like family ... My family and I can't thank him enough!

I hired Suzette to represent me in my divorce case, which also involved child custody, and I couldn’t be more pleased with her work and dedication. Suzette is compassionate yet straightforward, providing clear, honest guidance without sugarcoating the facts. She approaches each situation with a constructive mindset, ensuring that every decision is well-considered. Her rates are reasonable, and her extensive experience in family law is evident in the way she handled my case. I highly recommend Suzette for anyone facing a family law matter. The IMPACT she has had on my life as I move past this tumultuous chapter is profound, and I am incredibly grateful for her support as I look forward to the future.

Ronald was excellent. This was my first time in my life having to use any type of lawyer. After 28 years of marriage I was struggling with my ex wifes decision to get a divorce. Ron recognized this and helped me tremendously. Not only did he help explain the steps and procedures but he also was concerned for me personally because of my emotional state of going through the divorce. Ron always conducted himself professionally. During the pandemic and having to adjust to the virual world was very different. He did an exceptional job in helping me with this. I will definitely recommend Ronald in the future for anyone in need of a lawyer. Thank you.

I hired Ron to resolve insurance co-pays for my last year of Child Support. The original Court Order stated my ex would provide my daughter's insurance and I was responsible for 75% of the co-pays or out of pocket expenses. In 2014 my ex could no longer afford health insurance for my daughter. I took over paying my daughter's health care insurance. My ex waited until 3 months before my daughter's 18th birthday to file documentation with DES for $11,000 of unpaid out of pocket expenses. The actual amount was $4,000. Ron was critical to resolving the issue and my final payment of $4,000. Prior to retaining Ron I had utilized the services of a well known family law firm that was supposed to be one of the best for "father's rights". Ron far exceeded what the original law firm accomplished with my case. Highly Recommended!!!!

I couldn't have been happier with the result of my case! Ron diligently worked through multiple layers of delays and complications (including the wrongful removal of a child to another country). Ron consistently kept me up-to-date and I felt very confident that he would achieve the desired outcome. You will not regret having Ron represent you!

I have worked with Darin for several years and I have complete confidence in her work. She is proficient in both the technical aspects of zoning ordinances and the difficult area of political lobbying. Her knowledge of the various cities across the Valley is also impressive as is her understanding of the differing entitlement processes. She has helped me get through very complex rezoning cases and less complex use permits. No matter what the case was, Darin made sure the fees were very reasonable for the work she completed.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tempe, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
