I called Mr Peterson to ask one question in regards to my divorce in which I made the mistake of not having representation from the beginning . My divorce was down to very end with the final decree being ready to sign . Mr Petesom not only answered my question, he pointed out some inadequacies in the decrees and suggested revisions on a couple stipulations . For the very very very fair amount that I paid Mr Peterson , his professionalism and expertise and unequivocal knowledge of AZ divorce law saved me potentially up to several thousand dollars . Mr Peterson is a stand up man , empathetic , and is not only looking out for his own pocket book, he truly put me and my case 1st .

A friend referred us to Bradley Hahn's offices and we are very, very pleased. Brad is a trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional individual. He takes the time required to clearly explain options so that we can make the best possible decisions regarding matters related to our personal Trust Agreement. His office staff is excellent, as well. We highly recommend Brad Hahn for Trust-related matters.

I have to agree with the peer review given here. "Bradley is an attorney who is concerned with doing what is morally right in all cases. He is not the type of attorney who will shirk at the responsibility of educating a client as to the true value and sanctity of human life at all stages from conception to natural death." My experience has been nothing but positive in preparing my parent's trust and guiding our family through the details and difficulties following the death of my father. I really appreciate the personal annual review of our trust plans and the annual meeting of clients to educate us on current and possible upcoming changes in the law that will affect our plans.

I should have written this sooner considering how David saved my life, metaphorically not literally (yes, it is sad but truth has many emotions) Following the loss of my wife I made some very poor decisions and ended up incarcerated in Kingman, AZ. (Facility was amazing in comparison with LA county. Extremely clean and staff was very professional unlike the majority of my previous institutional “timeouts”). I was facing a minimum of 5 years, best case scenario. My sister-in-law referred me to David since she had worked with him in law enforcement. I like to research major decisions when lucid and found many other attorneys with offices in Kingman and years of experience. The past has taught me one valuable lesson. If you want to achieve something unimaginable then approach the task with a different approach. David has seen the law in action which is extremely beneficial. His proactive plan was unlike any other attorneys from my past. The result was phenomenal considering no additional incarceration was deemed necessary. He informed me exactly how he planned on providing the district attorney with positive information and did not “wait and see.” The district attorney dropped all the charges after receiving David’s amazing work of literature. Damn. I would be remiss if I failed to mention that his fee was was exactly what he had stated initially and extremely inexpensive considering the result. If you happen to be young of age then just know this attorney (dude) is totally “Lit.”

On June 28th 2018, at approximately 2300 hours, I contacted Mr. David Keys-Nunes in regards to questions I had about city court and possible unpaid fines. Mr Keys-Nunes was extremely knowledgeable, professional and helpful when answering all questions. He will definitely be my go to lawyer in the future. Thank you David!!

I was in an unfamiliar situation of trying to make a name change on the Civil court. I needed an attorney. I found David and felt so lucky I did. David was so patient with me and explained to me about the most efficient approach to get my name changed. He walked through the process and prepared all documents needed for the court hearing. I could not be happier with the services I received from David James Keys-Nunes. He is very smart, knowledgeable and professional. I am extremely satisfied with the work and care that David provided and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking an excellent attorney.

I have worked with Darin for several years and I have complete confidence in her work. She is proficient in both the technical aspects of zoning ordinances and the difficult area of political lobbying. Her knowledge of the various cities across the Valley is also impressive as is her understanding of the differing entitlement processes. She has helped me get through very complex rezoning cases and less complex use permits. No matter what the case was, Darin made sure the fees were very reasonable for the work she completed.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tempe, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
