Jimmy cook told me to sign for ten thousand and that I could beef up that number if I got injections in my neck when my hip hurt. They would ignore my calls for months at a time and they're was a time Kelly hung up on me then texted me five minutes later after I said who I was. My chiropractor told me to contact them to sign the HIPPA agreement after three months of treatment letting me know they hadn't communicated for three months at all. They told me to quit the physical therapy that they would get me one closer then ignored my calls for months only to call back and say so you're done treatment. I would say no and would be ignored for another few months. They told me to sign for 10k three years ago and when I didn't they passed me to another firm that got me 85k they want to get paid now when I should file for legal Mel practice considering I recorded all our interactions.

I came to know Tom through a referral from my business attorney. Tom is a true professional from the first phone call to him and the subsequent guidance through a case that was very difficult. He provided just enough tenacity and drive to bring our case to a fruitful ending. Tom has so much experience in his field, and garners much respect amongst his peers.

I've had the great fortune to have had Tom Littler as my attorney. He provided excellent legal service for me throughout a 10 month ordeal. Mr. Littler showed extreme care in representing me, making sure that I had a full understanding AND that my interests, thoughts, opinions, and needs were considered along the way. Tom gave excellent legal advice, fought for my rights, and involved me in every step of the process. He gave me courage when I had none and helped me to believe in myself. When I didn't have the words necessary to say what I needed and wanted to, Tom helped me find them. Although I have never had cause to have an attorney before Tom, I feel absolutely certain that he is the very best one could have when an attorney is needed. His knowledge and experience provided the very best outcome for me and my family. I am truly grateful for all that Tom has done and would highly recommend him to friends, colleagues, family members and any person who should ask. Thank you Tom Littler for your service! I am forever in awe of your skill set, your integrity and your professionalism!

I was referred to Thomas E. Littler, Esq by another attorney and family friend, and after speaking to him personally, I immediately hired him and never looked back. Throughout my 2 yr. legal battle Mr. Littler represented me in a very ethical and professional manner. He was attentive to detail and always met court deadlines unlike the opposing attorney in my case. Bottom line is his strategy produced results in my favor. Mr. Littler has earned my highest respect and I would, without reservation, recommend him to anyone looking for a most competent, ethical and quality attorney.

I have worked with Darin for several years and I have complete confidence in her work. She is proficient in both the technical aspects of zoning ordinances and the difficult area of political lobbying. Her knowledge of the various cities across the Valley is also impressive as is her understanding of the differing entitlement processes. She has helped me get through very complex rezoning cases and less complex use permits. No matter what the case was, Darin made sure the fees were very reasonable for the work she completed.

Tawnia helped me through a custody case for my two young children. The case was complicated, involving both emergency and permanent custody orders. Tawnia made this difficult time easier with her absolute professionalism and real care for her client. Emails and voicemails received same-day responses, and she truly understands all aspects of family law. And to top it off, she is excellent in a courtroom. Not once in the year-long process was I disappointed in my choice of working with her. I recommend her to anyone considering family court representation.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tempe, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
