Our son was arrested for possession of a small amount of pot at ASU. We contacted Matthew Lopez who we found out handles many such cases. It got complicated as our son was a non US resident and as a result, through an over zealous police department, his student visa was cancelled and he was forced to leave the country. This was unprecedented in Mr Lopez's experience and thought to be excessive for such a minor offence. Long story short- Mr Lopez worked with our immigration lawyer and ultimately got the charges dismissed. He and his firm could not have achieved a better result. We were kept in the loop at all times through the court process. I would highly recommend his firm. It's hard to believe in the state of Arizona, this sort of thing is a felony in 2020-parents beware! We have a daughter who went to Brown. On her first day a member of the staff told new students to confine their pot smoking to their rooms and put a towel under the door!
