Ms. Durham and her staff went above and beyond to help me after my car accident. They provided me with referrals for excellent medical care and took care of all the details to get my car repaired (as good as new ! ) They also got me DOUBLE the dollar amount the insurance company tried to offer me plus all medical expenses covered ! I highly recommend this law firm !

The entire team at Hildebrand Law was excellent in every aspect of my custody case. Kent Millward and Karla Spaulding-Huft were fantastic. Everyone was extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire process. Their preparation and dedication to my case helped ensure a winning ruling. I have and will continue to refer anyone going through a challenging situation to speak with Chris and his team.

A firm of unquestionable ethics. Commands respect within the literati of the dismal sciences, we call them lawyers. Have your wallets ready, as you get what you pay for - and you are getting the best at Hildebrand Law. One must temper their ambitions in the waters of their ethics - demonstrably, Michael Clancy afforded me treatment as that of his own kin. He ought make partner, if it is not already readily apparent.

Kiel was wonderful, I started with Kiel. My case was reassigned to Peter. Cori worked hard and was amazing throughout the process, finding doctors that I couldn't remember their names, just fields of expertise or sometimes just buildings they worked in. I thank goodness for Peter Canova at this firm who took my case. He is patient, kind, perfect gentleman and genius at what he does (Disability Attorney with Roeschke Law). When I'd go off track, and I did many times 'cause my mind spins out or I forget and freeze up) Peter got us back on track and carried us. I think only Peter could have done what he did as great as Peter did. Cool, calm, collected against the challenges of my memory and all. Thank you Kiel, Cori and Peter from the bottom of my heart for taking my calls, keeping me on track and being so kind and courteous and ... did I mention they are all the best of the best! The way my case evolved I could not keep up but Cori and Peter did. I also really love and respect a lawyer who says, "Tell the truth about everything." And I did and I remind you all you have to, you are under oath. But hopefully we all would anyway. But for a lawyer to say the evening before "Tell the truth" and remind you you're under oath, that's respectable and then some. You know you have a good lawyer when that's emphasized. Every single person I worked with here is fair, honest and brilliant!

Kiel, Handled my disability case from 2017 to 2020. I can honestly say, I was not the best client. I was suffering financially, mentally and all the education on disability was overwhelming. Kiel was a lifesaver. He handled my case and won, but it was more than winning. He was nurturing, respectful, followed up on my insurmountable questions beyond and reasonable expectations and I am genuinely forever grateful. Kiel is not only a sound human being, but he is also incredible intellect and follows thru. Appreciation is underestimated. I am forever grateful to him and his team. Simply the best.

I hired Kiel Roeschke right after I had submitted my application. A few months after I received a letter from SSDI that they wanted more specific information about my previous employment. Destiny, Kiel Roeschke's assistant, spent over an hour with me over the phone gathering the information I missed in completing my application and submitted it for me. Months later I was denied. Destiny immediately filed for reconsideration. A few months later I received several letters requesting that I go to three different appointments; physical, mental, xrays. All of this was completely overwhelming for me. I emailed Destiny and said I wasn't going to these appointments. She immediately was in touch with Attorney Kiel and I then received a call from him a few hours later. He answered all my questions and explained what the benefit to me could be if I went to all the appointments. He was very professional, spoke a in a manner I could completely understand, and was very kind. He spent as much time with me as I needed to make a decision. Based on our conversation, I made the decision to go to the appointments. I'm glad I did. Within 4 weeks from the last appointment I was awarded disability benefits. I would absolutely recommend Kiel Roeschke for your attorney.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tempe, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
