Mr. Skabelund took the time to understand and address our unique needs in a family trust and then explained the process to accomplish our goals in terms we could understand. He took an intimidating legal matter and made it approachable.

John executed my trust following the death of my husband. He explained the steps that needed to be taken clearly. He outlined how the trust would work and how the survivors' trust would be decided between my 2 daughters. He lined up appraisers for my properties and collaborated with my financial planner and accountant.

John gave us great insight into many unexpected issues and helped us structure our trust and estate in a way that accurately represented our goals.

We saw John Skabelund for some estate planning work. As an average working person, I am not very well versed in legal paperwork. I was amazed at how painless and quick the process was with John and his staff. I was impressed with his attention to detail and caring attitude for getting exactly the right set up for our estate and family's future. My husband has also used him for numerous things geared especially for law enforcement and their families. I would and do highly recommend him for all of your needs. He is quick in responses and will answer the biggest or smallest question you have. I knew we had put off doing our will/trust for too long so we finally took the plunge and I'm glad we worked with John. He was professional and very easy to talk to. He was also very good at responding to emails quickly with any concerns or questions we had. I had originally bought a will/trust-maker software kit and tried to do it on my own. I had so many questions it didn't answer and didn't feel confident I was doing it correctly. After our experience working with John, I realized that will-maker software just doesn't cut it if you are serious about making a trust. John was so much more thorough and made sure we were covered from every angle. He explained in detail all our documents in language we could understand. I felt like he really cared about creating the best will and trust possible for our family. I feel much more at peace knowing that our children and family will be okay if something happens to my husband and I.

We needed a new operating agreement and I had been referred to another firm. When I found that John was at Davis Miles I decided to see what he had to say. John listened!
