I personally didn’t use Matt but my niece did and without getting the judge’s ruling yet I can still say he’s an amazing hardworking invested atty. He took on a high conflict case with a few days to prepare and he killed it. He knows what he’s doing and he is, without a doubt, built for this. I highly recommend him because no matter how her case turns out he did everything possible with very little time. I’m truly amazed how he handled her case.

I am writing to express my highest recommendation of Attorney Matt Schultz. When Matt took over my divorce case, the proceedings had been dragging on for almost a year with bare minimum progress under my prior representation. From our first meeting, he demonstrated his strong advocacy and skill as he got up to speed on the intricate details of my case. He took the time to answer all my questions and talk to me throughout it all. Matt was super helpful in explaining everything clearly, so I understood what was happening. In the few short months, he navigated the legal complexities efficiently and professionally. I was impressed by his dedication, strategic approach and ability to cut through red tape. Thanks to his leadership, I was finally able to resolve my divorce in a timely manner. Dealing with divorce is tough enough emotionally, so it really meant a lot to have someone as on top of it as Matt in my corner. He brought tremendous value as my counsel. I am sincerely grateful for his assistance during this difficult personal matter.

I recently had the privilege of working with Matt Schultz, and his exceptional legal expertise combined with genuine compassion made a challenging process much more manageable. Matt listened attentively, explained complex legal matters clearly, and navigated my case with precision. His dedication, responsiveness, and commitment to an amicable resolution set them apart. I highly recommend Matt for anyone in need of a divorce attorney who not only excels in the legal realm but also prioritizes their clients' well-being.

I have been dealing with a complicated divorce and had to let go of my other attorney. Matthew was sympathetic to my situation as he had a major caseload on him. At first he told me he didn’t think he could take it on because of the amount of work he had in front of them, but after explaining to him, the complications and frustrations, I’ve been dealing with. He decided to see me after the conversation I had with him he agreed to take on my case and has done more in five days than my other attorney did in three months if you need an attorney, that’s gonna have your back, and understand the complications of high valued divorces. Matthew is the only one I would go to. He was highly recommended from multiple attorneys. Thanks again, Matthew.

I hired Mr Sacco to represent me, after a "big box" firm failed to do anything after several months. Only 2 weeks into the claim, Mr Sacco not only researched all angles, but also had a professional presentation prepared and maintained contact with me throughout the claim. Mr Sacco truly believes in doing the right thing by his clients, and getting the job done! I highly recommend his services

I came to Bob's firm with a unique and difficult probate case that I was hoping wouldn't have to go to arbitration. I was drawn to his firm because of a positive experience in my family, but I was still nervous about who I would choose to represent me. I had a very delicate situation and knew I needed a specific kind of attorney to take on this case with me. I met with Bob for an initial consult, and I immediately knew I wanted to hire him. Bob went above and beyond in my case and made sure that he would get things to end in my favor. I appreciated his honesty and straight forwardness from start to finish; I had expected to have to interpret the real truth in what was being said to me, but Bob always told it like it was - even when I wasn't always thrilled with what he was telling me. His work ethic is admirable and the persistence he showed in my case blew my expectations out of the water. Bob fought for me tooth and nail and still kept everything realistic in our conversations. I truly respect and revere his efforts and performance. While I don't doubt that other lawyers are capable of handling what I was going through, I don't believe I would have found a better match in my case than with Bob. I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you, Bob, for your help in everything.

Bob took over our case and definitely went above & beyond all expectations at a difficult time. My Developmentally & Intellectually Disabled friend was in need of someone to oversee her basic daily needs, manage her money & make sure she is safe. Bob helped us with the legal necessities of my becoming her Guardian in addition to the “Big Sis” she calls me. Bob & his assistant are always personable, patient & easy to understand in a world where I have no knowledge. What a God Send and a Blessing to me and mine! When I come of Probate age myself, I Know who to call!!!

Ms. Del Vecchio and her team were hands down the most professional personnel I've ever dealt with. Given the severity of my situation, they could answer any questions I had and kept me up to date through my dissolution process. I recommend them if you need any legal matter done. Ms. Del Vecchio made it very easy to communicate with her and was there for me from beginning to end.

I've been working with Bishop Law for almost 5 years on a very complex case that expanded across different courts and jurisdictions. I highly recommend Bishop Law Office because Ms. Tawnia Wienke and Mr. Bishop are the best Family Law attorneys in Arizona. You can depend on them to be a good advocate for you in court and equally hold you accountable in the best interest of yourself and family. I've been in front of 4 different Superior Court Judges in the last 5 years and I can tell you that each Judge respects Tawnia, Bill and the Bishop Law Firm brand. I'm grateful to have Tawnia representing me and I highly recommend you hire them ASAP! Great Team to work with. Reach out to Ms. Carolyn to get set up.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tempe, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
