My husband is a contractor and had legal problems after a large job went badly for reasons out of his control. Ms. Kinsley was our lawyer. She was able to settle this situation quickly and in our favor. We are very happy with the results she got us.

The best lawyer I've ever worked with. She is very smart and explains complicated legalese in a way I could easily understand. I was afraid we would lose our house but she was able to show me another way to avoid foreclosure. If I ever have another legal problem I am using her. Recommended her to many friends.

Kelsi Lane, Esquire Recommendation Letter To Whom It May Concern It is a distinct privilege to write this letter with a most profound recommendation on behalf of Kelsi Lane, Esquire. Spanning a probate and litigation matter of over a year in duration on my behalf, Ms. Lane rendered an exceptional resolution to an extremely complex set of legal issues. As a healthcare executive of over 35 years in hospital administration with some of the largest healthcare organizations in the US; I served as president of organizations that delt with highly regulated, volatile and ever-changing legal requirements and issues. I have employed attorneys and interacted with opposing counsel in many varied issues of origin with business entities, physicians, patients and employees. Only after an extensive search for highly qualified law firms with experienced counsel did I select and was fortunate to engage Ms. Kelsi Lane, Attorney at Law, for probate, conservatorship, guardianship, real estate and litigation services. It was a decision that was validated in every aspect of the process up to the final moment of closure in the case. I am so blessed to say that Kelsi not only met, but vastly exceeded, the expectations of a challenging legal and emotionally charged situation for myself and also for my family members. Ms. Lane’s skills were evident from the onset with the application of superior research and analytic skills in addition to the ability to process, retain and commit to memory large volumes of data quickly and formulate effective tactics and strategies. Her MBA degree was of great value as she analyzed and documented complicated financial transactions, assets and documented the findings in logical formats. Her writing skills produced many well-researched and compelling briefs, motions, document filings and arguments that reflected a deep commitment to minute detail preparation and the application of knowledge of the historical details that occurred over decades in this particular matter. Ms. Lane and her team are proficient at utilizing secure software and protocols to secure, store and disseminate protected legal information. As a consequence of the scope and complexity of the case many activities were required to produce work product and to dialogue and educate me on the evidence and findings so as to construct a good outcome. Throughout the process Kelsi was mindful of the fees associated with the case to optimize the management of everyone’s time to the best benefit of me as the client. Ms. Lane is extraordinarily trustworthy in the allocation of her and her team’s time. In addition to her keen intellectual legal capabilities, what is equally noteworthy and highly valued is the compassionate interpersonal interactions that is ever present in all of the communications with her that transpired over the course of a year till resolution was achieved. This case was particularly emotion ladened for me and my children and grandchildren as it involved our beloved deceased parents (grandparents and great-grandparents). Ms. Lane was sympathetic to the family dynamic and provided significant wisdom, support and insight into the legal dilemma and human impact such that we ultimately exercise good judgement in our decisions. Kelsi was accessible, responsive and proactive in communications throughout the process. Requests for informational updates were enthusiastically supported with timely responses, emerging legal events were disseminated quickly and with clarity, and her team members were equally accessible. After much thoughtful consideration, I recommend Ms. Lane with vigor and without reservation. I can assure all that she is an exceptionally gifted advocate that will demonstrate a deep love of the law and also will apply her vast knowledge with expert results.

I hired Kelsi's law firm after my father passed away in September of 2022 in Arizona. The estate went into probate and Kelsi walked me through the process step by step. She was friendly, informative, and timely and consistent with all facets of the probate. She always answered all of my questions and provided knowledge on things I hadn't even considered. I would highly recommend Kelsi for legal issues!

Benjamin Rundall of Honor Law Group represented me in case where I was being sued by corporate bullies . That attitude that they had changed immediately after Mr. Rundall entered on my case. I felt a relief when I realized I had some real help from a firm that put my interest first, and from an attorney that Loves to fight for justice and welcomes a trial on any day! He’s not afraid, he won’t bow to injustice or plea out due to lack of confidence. I thank Ben immensely for being extremely fair and reasonable with my attorney fees, the promptness to face my cause, and professionalism! I recommend him to all my friends , family and colleagues. I recommend him to anyone who wants JUSTICE !

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tempe, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
