Mr. Lazaro and his assistant Lori Gray are the best. When I first consulted with them I was nervous and scared, they are both kind and compassionate and put me at ease. Mr. Lazarow resolved an over $100,000 tax debt for me. I never had to interact with the IRS. I now have to pay the IRS only a little over $2000. His fees are reasonable, fair and manageable. I would highly recommend this team to anyone having any tax issues!

We used S. Lazarow for some IRS debt. The whole process is a lengthy one but we were kept in the loop the entire time. Lori his go to person was very easy to work with and made the process easier. IRS debt is a stressfull situation and they were top notch at handling it and keeping us calm while going through it. If we ever need any services again, this will be the firm we use. They also helped us with a CPA recommendation that has worked out very well also.

I went to Mr. Lazarow recently having worked with him many, many years ago. I didn't know who else to turn to. Lori Gray facilitated my opportunity to meet with him. Although I had unenviable circumstances, Mr. Lazarow treated me with dignity and professionalism. He spent time explaining a plan to work through my mess. I will forever be grateful for the time he gave me. I highly recommend him. His experience is impressive. He is an outstanding critical thinker, which everyone who needs a lawyer should look for in a tax attorney. Thank you, Mr. Lazarow and Lori Gray!

My husband and I contacted the Lazarow Law Firm last year to request a consult about back taxes and collection efforts that were already in progress by the IRS. Lori Gray immediately called us back to discuss the facts and we had an appointment with Mr. Lazarow the same week. It was clear within the first five minutes of the meeting that Mr. Lazarow was an extremely efficient, skilled and practical attorney. In addition to having a high level skill set, Mr. Lazarow (and Ms. Gray) were compassionate, kind, non-judgmental and reassuring. We hired Mr. Lazarow on the spot. The law firm took over from that point and all communication with the IRS was done by their office. They kept us informed along the way and constantly reassured us that we could go back to our normal life. Mr. Lazarow resolved our issues within 3 months and got us a more favorable result than we could ever have imagined. Mr. Lazarow's experience, knowledge of the IRS rules and how the agency works is invaluable. The fees are so reasonable and worth every penny- plus some! Highly recommend the Lazarow Law Firm. Simply the best out there. Thank you!

We had business tax problems with state, and IRS and that also want into our own personal taxes. Needless to say we were not sleeping at night. We tried to deal with both agencies ourselves ( Huge Mistake) and even hire a company we seen on TV and still did not receive resolution to our problems. ( Threats from these agencies are relentless, liens, attached bank accounts, etc ) Things were a nightmare. When we hired a CPA for our business she recommended Mr. Lazaro's law firm. We called and made a appointment and explained our problems to him. Mr. Lazarow had a very calming, and understanding demeanor and explained everything he could do to help us. Once we hire him he took complete control of our nightmare. I remember him telling wife and I to please go home and back to our normal lives and leave the worrying to him. From that day forward all the phones calls and threats from these agencies stopped. We never dealt with them personally again. Ms. Lori his paralegal was amazing and also had a very calming and delightful demeanor. Lori was beyond helpful in staying in touch with us to make sure we were not being troubled by the agencies and helped us gathered any records we needed for Mr. Lazarow. She deserved 5 stars herself. Then the phone call arrived from Mr. Lazarow that he has resolved our issues with the state and the IRS. Words alone fail me in expressing our happiness that, that part of our lives was behind us. That night we went to sleep smiling and woke up smiling. If you have tax issues please help yourself by contacting Mr. Lazaro's office. You will be so happy you did. If I could give him 10 stars I would, he earned them.

After having issues with a previous attorney with trust and competency, I was relieved to have been appointed Mr. Ezzo. He really does his best to make your case and doesn't just treat you like a frisbee that he wants thrown off his plate. After speaking with Mr. Ezzo my anxieties are lowered and I have more confidence in my case.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tucson, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
