I was extremely disappointed with the lack of interest and caring on the part of Paul Willman and his staff in preparing a trust. I consulted with Paul in July along with my ex-husband, Don. He assured us he could take care of the trust work we needed. What should have taken maybe 6-8 weeks dragged on for months. We were prompt whenever we were contacted for something, but no amount of prodding got the process going any faster. In the end we wrote large segments of it ourselves. Then the staff completely garbled it, causing us to have to carefully review each detail to be sure they had not messed it up again. Very bad service.

From our first meeting and right up until our final meeting, I felt very comfortable and knew I was in good hands. Paul is knowledgeable, easy going, yet in control. Those attributes made me feel at ease during a very difficult time in my life. His office staff was helpful, efficient and a pleasure to work with. Hopefully I won't need legal help again in the future, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to call Paul Willman.

Paul Willman was slow to respond, if he responded at all, and didn’t inform me about pertinent information regarding my case, whether out of incompetence or greediness, and fired me for my lack of confidence in him. And yes, I lacked confidence in him for good reasons.

In my experience, this attorney is a gem. Mrs Molnar is knowledgeable and determined, and she is so dedicated. without her, I would be up for deportation but she was so Vigilant and thorough that without her my situations would not have gotten resolved, and I would have a lot of problems. However, thanks to her, I can move on with my life and focus on being a better person. I highly recommend anyone with any legal problems to hire her she will fight for you, and she will make sure that you get the best outcome. There should be no other choice. Choosing her would be lucky for the client, and it would certainly guarantee the best outcome.

Mr. Gonzalez is an exceptional attorney. His knowledge, foresight, and compassion to do what's right are commendable. His advocacy cannot be understated. He stepped in where other attorneys wouldn't, turned our case around, and saved the families homestead from a forced sale. We highly recommend Mr. Gonzalez and his legal team. They will stand by you and keep you well informed of the process and progress of your case.

I have worked for Stephen as a paralegal and investigator on many of his cases over the past twenty years. Stephen has also represented me on three cases that I can remember. He takes cases that other attorneys are not capable of handling. He is not intimidated by bullying tactics from opposing counsel. Stephen is proficient in commercial litigation, probate, construction and real estate. He also has a working knowledge of bankruptcy, criminal, and domestic law because these specialized areas of law can filter in to his primary practice. Stephen’s ethics are of the highest caliber and he works diligently for his clients although many of them do not appreciate just how hard he works. A client will never find Stephen Gonzalez faltering, tripping or stumbling in the courtroom because is always prepared when he goes to court.

It's simple Scott is simply the best Criminal lawyer in Arizona you can get! He didnt only win my case, he saved my life . He was dedicated and had amazing communication throughout the whole case, not to mention hes just a truly nice guy. I have never been arrested or gone to jail before. I also have never been prosecuted before. So this whole process was the scariest thing i had ever been through. scott worked so hard for me and was always so patient the whole time. Everything i have ever asked him to do, look into, ask, type up, or follow up on he took care of immediately even though he still had so many other cases to deal with as well. The prosecutor was trying to put me in prison for 5-15 years on a first offense and scott fought it all the way with me for a year and a half and got me a NOT GUILTY verdict on 2 counts. If i could give scott a rating from 1 - 5 stars i give him 10!

I was appointed a public defender to represent me in criminal case in Bullhead City Arizona. Mr. Greene was very clear from the beginning of my case, what I was facing and the consequences if I was found guilty. I would take my papers from court and in a few days following court, I would get papers in the mail and an email making sure I received them. This was his practice and he never missed a beat. I wish him nothing but the best and pray he never lets this cruel world change him in any way. Thank you for all you have done for me. It was a pleasure knowing you and having you represent me.

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Tucson, Arizona?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
