Bryan has helped me out many times in the past 6 yrs. On different cases. He has always pulled through & got what I wanted done. He also works with you on making payments. Which is helpful in times of hardship.

Bryan was able to assist me in getting full custody of my daughter and an emergency hearing the day after christmas. As a father it is hard to get custody of your child in Arkansas but Bryan can get the job done if it is at all possible for you to get custody. He has been very helpful in many other instances where I needed quick legal advice and very reasonable with his cost compared to his competition in the area. If you are in a bind and need a quick & reliable lawyer Bryan is the guy you need to call.

Brian did my divorce and all the way threw it I had to call him over and over to find out anything. There was a joint custody agrement with the judge and Brian never wrote it up. At the end of it he told me I did not deserve what I got and he was going to charge me an extra 700 dollars after I had already gave him the money we agreed on. There was also some stuff my x was doing like making plans with a guy to have me killed and when I toled Brian he just said nothing and did nothing.

Doesn't respond to phone calls. Took no action on my case. I fired him 5 days after I hired him and he filed saying he was my attorney after I fired him. Now he doesn't want to return the money I paid him and I had to hire another attorney to represent me. Stay away!

I was falsely accused of a crime I didn’t commit all because the other party wanted my house. I was arrested on false charges and lost my career. I met with many attorneys but when I met with Shane, he already had the affidavit, knew who my case was assigned to, and was negotiating with the prosecution to not file. I haven’t even hired this man yet, and he was already working to get this resolved. He listened to my story and believed in my case. At one point a deal was presented and I didn’t know what to do. Shane said the easiest thing for him would be for me to accept, but that’s not what I hired him for, I hired him to do what was best for me and that’s exactly what he was going to do, so I didn’t accept. After 10 months of my case getting pushed back, no charges were filed and my case was dismissed. Shane works hard for his clients to get the best outcome possible. No matter how early or late I emailed him, Shane picked up and responded. Shane will be the only attorney I will use or recommend to anyone. If you’re reading this review and are in a bad situation with the law, no doubt Shane is your best option and will take care of you.

Mr. Wilkinson was very prompt in getting me a permission letter from the judge to go outside of the country, since I was still on probation. He is very professional, and I would definitely recommend him for his services.

Unfortunately i found myself on the wrong side of the law in benton county after taking necessary action to defend myself and a third party. I was arrested and wrongly charged with a malicious amount of felony charges that i was innocent of. Long story short, shane took the time to listen to my side of the story. Although he was skeptical of the case, he accepted my case, and believed my side the story. Had i been charged with all 12 felonious accusations, i have no doubt i would be sitting in prison right now. I took a huge loss. Lost my home, business, assets, and nearly my whole mind funding my fight of being wrongly accused in benton county. I never spoke a word to the judge. Less than 10 court dates later, charges are dismissed, and my case is closed. Theres no question who to call for a high level case. He has my vote every time. He is worth every penny, becuase he earns every one of them.

Did a through job in amending our trust and making sure we had all the necessary legal documents we needed. Never felt rushed and answered all our questions. After working for an attorney for many years I felt very secure in Todd taking care of all of our legal needs. Highly recommend him.

I cannot recommend Whitney enough. While I am sure she had quite the caseload, I never felt that my case received anything other than her full attention. Her effort and time, along with attention to detail went beyond my expectation. While I hope I never have to return to litigation, if ever do, I wouldn’t hesitate in asking her to take on my case again.

After going through a very long custody battle and using different attorney's in the process, Ms. Matney was by far the best fighter for me. Not only was she prompt in responding to my emails and calls, her knowledge for my case was superior. She new exactly what needed to be done to achieve what I wanted and knew to be best for my son. Her recommendation for an ad litem for my son was also outstanding because she new that he would be very thorough in his part of our custody case. Thanks to her she has prevented and saved my son from a very negative, dangerous influence. I cannot express how much I appreciate her. I recommend her to anyone who needs someone to fight for the safety of their child.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Bentonville, Arkansas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
