About three years ago, I contacted Brian to find out if he could assist me through a separation. A close friend had referred me, and I am SO thankful for her recommendation. Brian assisted FAR beyond "filing papers". He stood by me every step of the way and fought diligently for the best interest of myself and my daughter. To this very day (literally), he continues to navigate my battles with incredible compassion, expertise, and patience. I wouldn't want to be represented by anyone other than Brian.

Mr. Burke handled a legal matter for me for a period of 2 years. He was active and progressive when I wanted him to be, and non-active when I requested that too. Very knowledgable and professional. It was great to have him represent me in court and see my matter to a positive ending. Highly recommend, and I will use Brian again should I need legal representation in the future.

I was falsely accused of a crime I didn’t commit all because the other party wanted my house. I was arrested on false charges and lost my career. I met with many attorneys but when I met with Shane, he already had the affidavit, knew who my case was assigned to, and was negotiating with the prosecution to not file. I haven’t even hired this man yet, and he was already working to get this resolved. He listened to my story and believed in my case. At one point a deal was presented and I didn’t know what to do. Shane said the easiest thing for him would be for me to accept, but that’s not what I hired him for, I hired him to do what was best for me and that’s exactly what he was going to do, so I didn’t accept. After 10 months of my case getting pushed back, no charges were filed and my case was dismissed. Shane works hard for his clients to get the best outcome possible. No matter how early or late I emailed him, Shane picked up and responded. Shane will be the only attorney I will use or recommend to anyone. If you’re reading this review and are in a bad situation with the law, no doubt Shane is your best option and will take care of you.

Mr. Wilkinson was very prompt in getting me a permission letter from the judge to go outside of the country, since I was still on probation. He is very professional, and I would definitely recommend him for his services.

Unfortunately i found myself on the wrong side of the law in benton county after taking necessary action to defend myself and a third party. I was arrested and wrongly charged with a malicious amount of felony charges that i was innocent of. Long story short, shane took the time to listen to my side of the story. Although he was skeptical of the case, he accepted my case, and believed my side the story. Had i been charged with all 12 felonious accusations, i have no doubt i would be sitting in prison right now. I took a huge loss. Lost my home, business, assets, and nearly my whole mind funding my fight of being wrongly accused in benton county. I never spoke a word to the judge. Less than 10 court dates later, charges are dismissed, and my case is closed. Theres no question who to call for a high level case. He has my vote every time. He is worth every penny, becuase he earns every one of them.

Getting in trouble is never a great experience. Unfortunately, there are times when you don't make the best decision and you end up facing legal consequences. In my case, I deserved everything I was facing. I was just terrified of the maximum penalties and knew I needed some help in navigating the justice system. When it came to hiring a lawyer a few concerns came to mind. Do I need the help, or can I get the same results myself? Are they going to rip me off and charge me an unfair amount? Will they put effort into my case or am I just another easy payday for them? I'm sure these are all quite common concerns if you, unfortunately, find yourself in a similar situation. I can tell you with pure confidence, that if you hire Ramon Bertucci to represent you, you won't have to think about any of those concerns. Ramon is extremely professional, fair, and affordable, deliberate in his actions, and does not overlook a thing. Don't try and navigate the legal system alone. It'll cost you more in the long run. It's better to find a lawyer you know you can trust and who will put honest effort into your case. I hope I never have to use his services again, but I highly recommend him to whoever finds themselves in unfortunate circumstances.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Bentonville, Arkansas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
