My family and I were in desperate need of a lawyer to take my brother’s federal case. We got a recommendation for Mr. Morledge and reached out, he was hands down very considerate, listened to every detail and gave his honest opinion and what was gonna be best for my brothers case and took his case immediately. We couldn’t be more happier and content with the end results on how Mr. Morledge went above and beyond to get a hold of things other lawyers were having issues with, his team, as well as himself were always reaching out, giving us updates on the process and any question or concern were always answered, even if it was the weekend Mr.Morledge would answer my call. We highly recommend Morledge Law Firm for federal cases, he will not disappoint and truly makes you feel welcomed and I’m very thankful to Kim who would answer all my calls and would call me immediately right after receiving new updates! This is a law firm you can honestly trust and will not have to question if they’ll get the job done! Mr. Morledge did that and more for my family! Thank you Mr. Birc!

Pros
1
Highly knowledgeable and experienced attorneys who achieve favorable outcomes for clients
“Birc Morledge was the most respectable person I have ever dealt with in my life. Some attorneys are intimidating in person and wussies in the courtroom, but Birc is widely respected by everyone involved and a solid fair fighter.”
2
Excellent communication and responsiveness to client needs
“Birc kept in touch with me and my family the whole time, letting us know what was going on, and what he was working on until he was able to get everything he needed to go up for a bond reduction.”
3
Compassionate and caring approach to client relationships
“Even though I was a mess, he was the calm within the storm. Confident and assertive, he explained everything on the front end, gave me advice on my next steps and we set up a meeting the next day.”
4
Flexible payment options and affordable legal services
“They worked with me on payments and when the court came around I was surprised to have almost everything dismissed and had to pay for a simple fine. Greatly recommend them.”
5
Consistent positive outcomes and high client satisfaction
“Birc got me and my 3 other family members completely off on possession charges and a couple other things and we walked away from court with mere fines. He is the best lawyer in Arkansas, wether it's a high profile case, or your basic disorderly conduct, this is who you want representing you.”

Samantha Lambert met with us and quickly presented out options for both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. She was probably one of the smartest people I have ever met. Which is why I wanted to go with her so quickly. If I am going to have someone defend me and keep my home, I am going to go with someone smarter that I, which is rare to find. Strange to say for someone writing in a Bankruptcy review spot. She was young but thorough, knew the law inside and out. She put us at ease, answered ever question I had unflinchingly, never waivered, never hesitated, never stopped having confidence- which after the hell of years of torture and anxiety and sleepless nights of grinding worry, I felt foolish that I had not called her earlier. And I was spot on. She assigned Kira the just as assured Paralegal to us as a go between do complete last minute details. Off to the 341 meeting, which after here preparation was a super delicious piece of cake. Now we just wait until all the details are done and everything is complete. But we could not be more pleased. Anything that was not done was something that was outside of Ms. Lambert's control. I certainly recommend her most highly to anyone who will listen. I hope no one ever has to be in this position EVER. But should you have to, do yourself a favor and choose Samantha Lambert and Dickerson Law Firm.

I hired Barrett to represent my cousin at his parole release hearing. Barrett took care of everything and the entire experience was as easy and painless as could be. He answered all questions quickly and made sure my cousin had everything he needed in order to be approved for parole. All communications were to-the-point, yet polite and comfortable. Note that Barrett works through Lassiter & Cassinelli law firm in Little Rock. I discovered and hired him through the firm, and I couldn't be more pleased.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Little Rock, Arkansas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
