I needed an attorney to represent me after my ex wife sued me. After consulting with a few attorneys I met Patty. Patty was very understanding, yet gave me the facts that I needed to properly address my circumstances. Patty is everything you need. Her knowledge and experience gave me comfort, while her strength and skill gave me what I wanted from the judge! She was able to guide me through a very difficult time. Nobody wants to be in a litigious situation, but if you are, Patty will represent you in an honest and skillful way that will give you the confidence you need to go to court.

Patty is kind but tough and imminently knowledgeable about the law. She was able to guide me through my divorce with expertise and empathy and always responded immediately to my phone calls and emails. With Patty's guidance, I felt empowered and certain that I was in good hands throughout the process.

I joking call Patty Lueken "Attorney of the Year " to her face and in correspondence, but the whole thing comes from a place of deep appreciation for her talent and her passion. Patty took my case from another attorney and quickly reacted to a number of sensitive and unresolved issues with real authority and direction - which ultimately led to a resolution I never even imagined possible. She combines aggressiveness, where needed, with calm, level headed and knowledgeable advice. As mine was a critical family law matter, she could step into my shoes as a mother with a deep understanding of a parent's priorities. Patty returns emails and phone calls quickly and treats all her clients as if they are her only one. One can expect unmatched service from Patty and her small, but mighty team!

One year ago we interviewed other lawyers and ultimately selected one that said all the right things, but did not attend to the case...but that is not the case with The Lueken Firm. We later learned Patty Lueken would have been our best choice first. She is completely knowledgeable on these "takings matters" (Eminent Domain). She is honest up front with an estimation of time and expense. Although she did not guarantee an end result (or monetary gain), she moved swiftly to position our case ready for action and success. Although she offices in Little Rock she took on our Conway matter without hesitation. She was responsive to our timely inquiries, she aggressively engaged our issue with the opposing parties, she kept us apprised of "what" was happening and "when" things would happen next. She brought our legal matter to quick resolution favorable to our family. We are grateful and openly willing to recommend Ms. Patty Lueken as the best place to start for all your attorney needs in Arkansas. I welcome your email inquiries for more positive information about Ms. Lueken. -Logan

After working with another lawyer for over 2 years and got no where and nothing done, I found out about Patty by talking with a friend. My family retained Patty as our lawyer after a family member's lawyer talked with her about our situation and Mrs. Lueken settled our case within 60 days. We are satisfied financially and happy that the ordeal is finally over.

My husband and I retained Milton to represent my husband for a criminal immigration matter, and not a minute too soon. My husband was arrested and charged with a crime that potentially could have destroyed his life. At first we retained a local attorney and we were led to the slaughter by this unprepared and under qualified "professional". He was not qualified to deal with such a complex and crucial issue, although according to him, he was a superstar. In the eleventh hour we retained Milton, and kept him engaged after conviction to represent my husband in the appeals process. Milton seemed to have a better understanding of all the facts at our initial meeting than the first attorney had the entire time he had represented my husband, almost a full year at this point. I wish we had retained Milton at the very first sign of trouble, the outcome would have been vastly different. Milton is very responsive, he returns calls, he answers his own phone and he knows the law. He isn't hired to be his client's best friend and he makes no bones about it, but his demeanor is such that even when he delivers horrible news you know he is solid in your camp, not playing both sides of the isle, or rolling the dice with your life. Milton is well respected in the field and he very deserving of this respect. He spent countless hours preparing for our “hopeless” case and it paid off in the appeals process. Looking back on a horrible experience and learning from 20/20 hindsight, I believe retaining Milton first would have been the best form of defense. If we had to do it all over again, Milton would have been the only attorney we needed to know and the appeal wouldn’t have been necessary. An attorney firmly in your camp from the beginning, who is aware of his strengths and is confident in the delivery of your Defense is 99% of the battle. I recommend Milton with confidence for representation with your immigration or criminal legal matters, if he isn’t the right attorney he will not try to convince you that he is, and he will be honest and upfront with you sooner rather than later, or worse, the morning of the plea deal deadline on the eve of trial.

Knowledgeable, caring, honest and very professional, always going above and beyond. Murad is the kind of attorney that will work diligently on getting any issues resolved. After a couple of years of frustration with other attorneys, he was the only one who knew how to handle our daughter's case (difficult international adoption case), he told us at the beginning it was not going to be easy and all through the case he kept us informed, he was available and answered all of our inquiries with care and professionalism. We highly recommend Murad for your immigration case.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Little Rock, Arkansas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
