Hart Law Firm (Neal, Rebecca, and Erica) all worked diligently on my recent Workers Comp case to get me the most they could out of my claim. They were always understanding and helpful when I came to them with questions, and honest with me on what directions to take as things developed with the case. I just want to thank them for all the hard work that they put in on my behalf and for helping us to reach a settlement. If you are looking for Workers Comp representation, these are the people/law firm to reach out to. Thank you again! -Odis-

I fought the VA system for 10 years. When Ron filed for his benefits he didn't doubt the VA, he had no idea the ride I was in for after his death. He lived long enough to receive two expedited denials. Before he died during his last rounds of chemo, he would ask me if we could afford an ice cream cone from McDonalds. This man whom i loved with all my heart knew i counted change for his ice cream. As all who watch their loved one give up their fight. This was my hell. I continued what he had started. Fighting the VA. In desperation I called Chris Attic law firm. I've had lawyers who actually laughed and said lots of luck with your case. No one can win with the VA. Chris and Jennifer were my angels, they weren't on my Shoulder, they took my hand and led the way. They won our case. To Chris, this is a personal journey,..he wants justice to be fair... Thank you so much,,,,all at Attig Steel. Jennifer i love your heart...... He wants

Chris took my VA claim in April 2019 I got my c- file August 2019, had my claim awarded in my favor December 2019. This atty did more in 8 months than any VSO did in the last 7 years. I have been trying to get my claim approved since 1983. I recommend Chris Attig Atty at law to all Veterans that are tired of waiting.

Like many people before me, as soon as I found out I would need legal representation for my case with the VA, I dreaded the idea of dealing with a lawyer. I had never had a satisfying interaction with a lawyer in my life until I spoke with Chris. Over the course of a year he represented me with class and dignity. Neither he or Jennifer Steel ever made feel like a case or a number. They were always friendly and attentive. I always got my questions answered in a timely manner. I can’t say enough great things about them and the work that they do. We did end up with the result that we wanted, but, even if we hadn’t, I would still recommend them.

I was impressed from the beginning of the process to the end. The professionalism of his staff is second to none. I hired Wayne to not only help me with my estate planning but to advise me on some business entity advise as well. I felt at ease at all times with him and was impressed at his passion for what he does. The staff is courteous and helpful as well.

Have used Wayne Ball for my revocable trust for many years and feel confident the document created will serve me well. Wayne has asked specific questions to ensure the revocable trust delivers for the short term and long term. Wayne waits patiently as I ramble verbally regarding my thoughts, wishes, and concerns for my beneficiaries.Wayne captures my ramblings accurately for the revocable trust document. I feel the revocable trust provides just what I need and want for the unpredictable future... Money well spent for the creation of my revocable trust! Staff at the office are nice and helpful too.

Wayne Ball created my trust and helped me understand current issues as well as unpredictable long term future issues. I am confident my trust is thorough and will be an effective means of handling my estate upon my death, while allowing continued access to everything in my estate while alive. One very nice benefit is the filing of my medical related power of attorney and my medical decision in DOCUBANK and the the wallet card that provides the necessary information for accessing the documents .

I was fortunate enough to be represented by Peter Miller in a case that involved a motorcycle accident. I was traumatically injured when a driver collided with me while I was driving my motorcycle. This event eventually resulted in the amputation of my right leg below the knee. This was just one of the several injuries I suffered as a result of the collision. My family was unsure where to turn because we were not from this area. Several people recommended Peter to my wife. After a brief phone conversation Peter came to the hospital to visit with my family. During this time he displayed great compassion and understanding. Peter became more than a lawyer to us, he became a comforter and a friend. Throughout the length of my case Peter remained a steadfast part of our lives. Peter and I spent many memorable moments together. We laughed and cried together. Peter guided my family and me through the tough times, and he provided us with wisdom that we will never forget. Peter gave me great advice, for my case and life in general, on several occasions. He was compassionate when we needed him to be, respectful at all times, firm when we needed him to be, professionally aggressive when he needed to be, and most importantly, Peter was always there for us. Although I wish my accident would have never occurred, I do count myself fortunate for getting to know Peter Miller. He has positively impacted my life and the lives of my family members. I am grateful to Peter for representing me so well, but I am even more grateful to him for taking the time to pass along his wisdom and compassion. Peter Miller is an individual of superior character, and I model myself after the high standard which he showed me how to live life. I highly recommend Peter Miller!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Little Rock, Arkansas?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
