From the date of my arrest to my sentencing in court, Lisa and her team were able to get my case as a wet n wreckless in less than 4 months!!! I owe it all to her team and Ed Talik! I ultimately felt like I had hit rock bottom, that this potential DUI was going to be like wearing the scarlet letter for years to come. I thought I wouldn’t be able to look forward to having a successful future and that this would set me back. Because this was my first DUI and being in trouble with the law, I wasn’t sure if I even needed an attorney, nor did I think I could afford to drop the money for it. I spent a few days trying to do my own research on reddit and finally started calling around. I spoke to 2 offices before speaking to Lisa’s office. Ed Talik, the attorney who works with Lisa, consulted with me over the phone. He highly suggested I hire an attorney, even if it wasnt with their office, I would have a chance at a lower sentencing and to get the DMV hearing. He took the time to answer all my questions. He assured me Lisa was the best at her job and specialized with DUI cases, ect. What led me to choosing Lisa’s office was their experience. Ed himself also has one hell of an impressive background, highly qualified with years of working in the field as a Chief of police and DA. I felt confident in their team to help me with my case and I’m so glad I went with them. They gathered all the necessary reports, discovery packet, including dash cam footage and looked into the breathalyzer machine at the CHP office to make sure it was functioning correctly. They advised me to gather a mitigation packet for court. I was able to sit down with Lisa and meet with her a week before my pretrial court date. It resulted in a wet reckless that Ed Talik was miraculously able to do! I can tell that he truthfully enjoys the work that he does and I feel so thankful for that ! Thank you Lisa Liu, Ed Talik and Malorie !

I just want to share how I became a homeowner with the help of PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST for fixing my credit report. The negative items on my credit report deprived me of so many opportunities alongside 5 derogatory and 2 collections which messed up my report and lowered my credit score to EQ: 547, TU 564, EX 521. After my mom told me about PINNACLE CREDIT SPECIALIST, I reached out to them immediately and complied with their proposal. After five days he helped me boost my credit score to EQ: 809, TU 801, EX 811 excellent standard and he also deleted all negative collections and derogatory ones on my credit report. These finally got me a mortgage for my new house and credit cards. Contact him now by email:

Finding myself in need of a lawyer was something I never expected, but a serious legal issue turned my life upside down. I had to leave college and faced potential jail time, leaving me feeling lost and deeply scared about my future. That's when I found Lisa Z. Liu, and I am profoundly grateful that I did. From our first meeting, Lisa stood out from other attorneys I had consulted. She didn't make grand promises or try to scare me into hiring her. Instead, she was honest and straightforward about my situation, explaining everything in a way that made sense. Her calm and confident approach immediately put me at ease. Throughout the process, which lasted more than a year, Lisa and her team were incredibly supportive and communicative. They kept me informed about every court date, every development, and every action I needed to take. I never felt alone or in the dark, which was a huge relief during such a stressful time. Lisa's deep knowledge of the legal system was evident. She expertly navigated the complexities of my case and always had a clear plan. Her expertise shone through in her courtroom strategies and communications. It was clear she was committed to getting the best possible outcome for me. Thanks to Lisa's hard work and dedication, my case was resolved with a diversion motion, which means it will eventually be dismissed and won’t affect my future. This outcome allowed me to re-enroll in college and continue my education without this case hanging over me. It also alleviated my concerns about potential immigration issues, another major worry. Lisa and her team are not just professional—they are genuinely caring. They made sure I understood what was happening and reassured me when things got tough. Their support made a difficult situation much more bearable. If you need a lawyer who is honest, knowledgeable, and truly cares about her clients, I highly recommend Lisa Z. Liu. I'm incredibly grateful for everything she and her team did for me. Thank you, Lisa, for helping me get my life back on track.

I worked with Lisa for my case during Covid, and despite the hardship during that time, she tried her best to give me the best arrangement. Lisa is extremely straightforward and professional, she would let you know the most possible outcome for your case during consultation. Lisa’s team is extremely responsive to any of my question, her team provided me with all the resources that I’d need during and after the case. I didn’t have to do much during the entire ordeal and Lisa provided her client with assurance. Needless to say, if you’re looking for an attorney who can handle your case from A to Z, look no further. I’m coming back to Lisa for my expungement.

I was t-boned by a man with no insurance, so I thought I was out of luck. Lara Law Firm fought hard on my behalf and got me a great settlement on my personal injury claim. I would recommend to anyone in need of a good personal injury lawyer.

Richard was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I had a free consultation where he laid out my options with a case I am going through, and he was patient and thorough even though there was no payment involved. He even offered to give me more advice as I navigate my accident claim, even though he is not taking my case. Can't thank him enough.

Emmett is one of the finest attorneys I have worked with in my 78 years. He is experienced, knowledgeable, current, and is a very kind man. In my business, I work with attorneys on an almost daily basis and I consider Emmett at the top of my list. Emmett was also my father's attorney and has assisted other members of my family. If you are looking for someone, who is always in your corner, give Emmett Tompkins a call, you will not be disappointed.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Alhambra, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
