I was represented by Julie Flanagen in my difficult (to say the least) divorce. She was always there for me and felt more like a therapist at times. I am very pleased with my divorce settlement. I would never work with anyone else!

Julie Flanagan is an excellent attorney. I worked with Julie for close to two years on my divorce case. From the beginning, Julie was very clear in our strategy. She knew what information was needed and set up a balance sheet that made everything clear to me. I understood what we were doing and why. She was always available to answer any of my questions and responded quickly and professionally with me on the phone, though email and text. She did an excellent job of working with my ex-husband’s counsel representing me and keeping the process moving forward. Julie defended me in a manner that really worked. I was able to get a fair settlement and reasonable spousal support. I’m back in my home and I am truly thankful. In addition, Julie provided great connections and referrals for me including an excellent accountant and mortgage broker. Julie really cares about her clients. She still checks in with me. Julie represented me in a child custody matter during a legal separation I had filed, where the mother moved out of state and filed a petition for full out-of-state custody. At the outset, when I had filed for legal separation to retain child custody, I hadn’t yet heard of Julie and went with a law firm that churned my case file, with high billing rates and no results. I started looking for new counsel and found Julie by word of mouth. I’m glad I did! To start, Julie listened to my situation as a single dad to a nine-year son, and gave me a balanced, experienced assessment. Throughout the case, we discussed and collaborated on the best legal strategy to preserve and protect my relationship with my son, always with an emphasis on what was in my son’s best interest, and with building on the practical aspects of presenting my case to the judge. I was particularly impressed with her experience, professionalism in hearings and towards opposing counsel, her calm legal advice when I expressed anxiety about life’s situations with my finances and how the mother wouldn’t cooperate on basic issues, and her ethical approach in handling the matter step-by-step, as well as strategically. Julie was fully prepared for all hearings, and prepared for, presented and argued exceptionally at the custody hearing, where we prevailed. Throughout, Julie did not churn the file, and was conservative in billing fees and costs. And on top of all of that, she took the time to get to know my son, and I felt that she cared about how things would turn out for my son and me personally. I couldn’t ask for better representation!

I don't even know to where to begin it started off with me needing some financial help and Julie took me on at a discounted price because I believe in her heart she really wants to help families in family court that need the help. I have been fighting this case for about 7 years now and my kid is a little over 7 years old . I was in a situation where the judges would just not listen and they were always on the mother's side even though I had never missed a visit and I was trying to be the best father that I could. It had become a little frustrating at this point but luckily I looked up Julie and she took on my case. It was the old ritual of the opposing side basically lying and not even presenting any sustainable evidence ,and Julie was a lion in court she shot them down very quickly and made the judge look at the situation in it's true form. Long story short I am very grateful that I had Julie with me in court that day with me to help me battle the opposing side and get the custody that I deserve with my child . We won and they basically added more overnights so I am very happy with the results and I would definitely recommend her as a lawyer to anybody that needs help in family Court.

I can't say enough good about Julie. Not only is she a top-notch attorney who can guide you through a challenging and frustrating legal process, but she also exemplifies high levels of integrity, patience, and emotional intelligence. I have personally worked with and met many family law attorneys in Orange County. Of all these, Julie is one of the best and I would highly recommend her. She is very bright, insightful and always pragmatic. She is as willing to give advice as she is ready to roll up her sleeves and get to work. I think what I appreciate most about her is her candor. After looking through information on avvo, yelp, google and business websites for a family lawyer, Ms Flanagan seemed one of the better family lawyers to contact in my area (Orange County). I emailed her some questions about the cost and process of doing a post-nup and got a prompt and clear response. We then talked on the phone, and we discussed my situation in more detail. She suggested that for my circumstances creating a post-nup might not be worth it, but if had additional questions I could reach out to her for advice. I felt Ms. Flanagan gave me some good information, kind attention and advice w/o charging me. I needed help in retaining help from Julie in petitioning the courts for guardianship of my grandson. The court was asking me for documents that I needed to complete for the case to be heard in court. Julie took care of getting everything that the court was requesting. She submitted all completed documents to the court on my behalf. When my case was presented in court on the day of my hearing, the judge had all the signed documents that the court had requested and my petition was granted with no hesitation. If it were not for her expertise, my case would not of been granted so quickly. She dedicated her time 100% to me

I was referred to Julie Flanagan, along with a long list of attorneys, by the Orange County Bar Association. I had a very unusual and complex case, and no one wanted to represent me! My two-year old granddaughter’s deceased father was not listed on her birth certificate by my daughter. My goal was to have the courts rule he was indeed the father, have the birth certificate amended, and then apply for Social Security death benefits to which my granddaughter was entitled to until age 18 – a very significant amount.
