Let me begin with saying this review is way overdue as I am not one to write reviews. But, Steve is an extraordinary person and attorney and truly fights for what is in the best interest of children. I worked in criminal court and I was in need of a family law attorney as my ex-husband was taking me to court for a modification of child custody and it was very contentious as he was making false allegations against me, and was only trying to get more custody time with our daughter to reduce his child support. My case also involved chid molestation that occurred on dad's custody time by his brother-in-law and there was a pending criminal trial against this individual. In addition to myself being bullied by dad's entire family. This entire situation was extremely stressful. That is when I asked another court employee that had worked in the Family Law Division for a referral. She referred me to Mr. Dragna. That is when I finally felt a sense of relief. I had a hearing pretty quick because Mr. Dragna was on top of it. Let's just say it was so contentious that my case was a total of 3 days in court. Mr. Dragna was always early, prepared and very professional. I felt the odds were against me because the court investigator believed dads lies and manipulation and it appeared that the investigator just did not like me and her report to the court was completely against me. Mr. Dragna subpoenaed her to appear in court and let me tell you Mr. Dragna's questioning just completely tripped her up and exposed her biases to the judge. Not to mention Mr. Dragna's closing argument. It gives me chills to this day and even the judge was repeating statements from his closing arguments which just goes to show how powerful his argument and statements were to the judge. The end result was completely in my favor or I should really say my daughters favor. Dad was denied his request and had to pay for my attorney fees. Steve is not one of the best he is the BEST family law attorney and I could not recommend him enough!.

He put our wonderful lil child in a sexual deviants house. Our eight-year-old son has his adult male brother who is 22 years old taking tons of penis pictures with the nine-year-olds phone totally stark but naked in public parks holding his ID like a weirdo..... This is what Steven dragnet does he put children in predicaments and terrible homes he helps to ruin their life because his Yale law degree keeps him cocky and ignorant. he lies under oath, he has an fragile ego and will use his power to hurt you and your child. the child calls and is recorded cry and very sad in this weird mothers home

BEWARE ITS FEB 2021 HE & HIS STAFF DO NOT WEAR A MASK WEARER He endanger the life of me, my son, and his 75-year-old grandmother and 81-year-old grandfather this lawyer is very ignorant and not respectful of other peoples lives Very rude and unprofessional. Charged me for an hour and a half but didn’t see us at all. He strictly has a law degree, he has absolutely no degree in family psychology, child psychology, or even a certificate for child communication skills, yet he wanted to be completely alone with a nine-year-old boy who did not want to be alone with him! And he’s obviously has a lot of problems if he believes that Dr. Phil is a real TV show That addresses real problems in a real manner! He also believes that this video that I’m going to leave the title to in quotations is a truly unscripted video you should Google it yourself and see if you believe that a six-year-old has this type of intellect and knowledge without being prompted or taught by a parent avoid him then “ You Have to Hear This 6-Year-Old's Advice for Her Divorcing Parents” Here’s also the link just to make sure you got the right video https://youtu.be/DITdTSmdB98 If you personally believe this girl is scripted and you still want to see this attorney who believes it’s unscripted I advise you on some caution! Dr. Phil is strictly for entertainment no different than Jenny Jones, or Jerry Springer, it’s designed with intent to entice excite and cause drama it is made for Clickbait and advertising not for real life situations And once again he billed me $1750 for absolutely zero minutes of his time I often find professionals professionals in suits manipulate and lie quite often and are often not as educated as you may presume And after laughing at a lawyer who believes Dr. Phil is a legitimate shell I got to say this guys a quack

Stephen represented our business several years ago in a case we brought against a company that had not paid a contracted amount. He truly partnered with us in this case. He is an ass kicker - but in a legal and extremely professional way. Stephen defended us as a friend would. I consider him a friend - not just an attorney I have used. He won every point made in court and the Judge completely sided with us. We won that case 100% due to Steve's ability to present our case. Would highly recommend his services. Dwight Franke

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Anaheim, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
