Ryan is an exceptional and practical attorney. Ryan represented me after picking up my case from another attorney at his prior firm. With his prior experience as a DA, he understands how the other side thinks and plays their hand. He has intuitive ideas and creative angles in framing your defense. His responsiveness was far above my expectations and made me feel understood and heard through out the process. One thing I noticed early was his ability to listen to his clients. Often specialists in a field speak over you and lack the ability to connect with their clients in an everyday common manner but Ryan often stops himself and says “you had a question, go ahead”. That made me feel taken care of by my attorney. Support this man and his ability to serve his clients, you’re in great hands!

We brought Ryan on after we were with another Attorney for over 2 months. During this time the previous Attorney didn't consult with our son at all in person. We hired this amazing Attorney Ryan Couzens AFTER he made an in person visit with our son. Yes he took the time to meet with and listen to our son prior to receiving retainer fee. Hired 9/22/24 for sentencing hearing on 10/3/24. Ryan knew more about the case than previous council and argued the case like he was representing his own son. He did what I think an Attorney should do (communicated) with us and our son the entire time. He took the pressure off. I just can't say enough. Our son was looking at a prison sentence and Ryan the miracle man came through for him. Our son received a short jail sentence and probation. We are and will be forever grateful to Ryan James Couzens.

Whether it’s a minor misunderstanding or a serious charge, the complexities of firearms laws can be overwhelming in the state of California. Ryan communicated the technicalities of these laws and was able to get felony charges dismissed. Ryan's representation was nothing short of a very positive experience. He was attentive, always quick to reply to any of my concerns or questions, and truly cared about the potential life-changing situation I faced, which made me feel understood and supported. If you have any firearm-related charges, he's the man for the job.

I was referred to Ryan from another attorney for some charges that were brought upon me. He contacted me on a Sunday and gave me his time to explain my case. He made me feel very comfortable and he was very engaging. He took the time to explain what I was up against. At the beginning of the call he explained to me he doesn’t work in the Federal area of expertise I need. He still spend and hour on the phone to me to assist in answering my questions. I hired Ryan Couzens when I was accused of vandalism. I was very worried about how these charges would affect my life. Mr. Couzens explained the entire process to me and negotiated with the DA both before and after the charges were filed. After these negotiations, the DA agreed to drop the charges if the cost to repair was paid; they even arranged a payment plan. I found Mr. Couzens to be easy to work with and a great communicator; he always had time for me and I would recommend him to anyone.

We were in a pinch and lost our attorney unexpectedly-Mr Couzins jumped in quickly and immediately made a difference in our case helping us get the outcome we wanted. I would absolutely use him again or recommend him for anyone else needing his services.

I hired Ryan Couzens, because he was a former prosecutor, and he knew the lay of the land. I was accused of a crime that would have ruined my life. Once I hired Mr. Couzens he worked tirelessly to gather materials and present my case to the DA to get them not to file. After months of work, the DA decided not to charge the case. He and I must’ve spoken on the phone 50 times, he was always accessible, returned calls promptly, and followed up on everything. I will always be grateful for his efforts and would recommend him to anyone.

Moved out to California and immediately got into some civilian traffic issues, he helped with extensive research on what would impact my military career and navigated around that. Very smart and experienced with his job.

Ryan was excellent, I was facing some jail time and Ryan got me off and down to 1 year informal probation. I highly recommend him!
