I've hired other lawyers before and I knew how they work. Most of them(I say more than 95%) only cares about their own pocket than about your case. Terance is very different. I researched him extensively before hired him as my lawyer in my case. He is:
1) Very Diligent -- he will get on filing motions/papers the moment he receives paperwork from the opposing consel. He doesn't give excuses for delay to try to drag your case longer
2) reasonable fees -- His fee structure is very fair and very clear to me and there are no hidden charges or charges that came as surprises. It's a life saver for me since I was really drained financially already by this legal case. His fees allows me to continue the case and not having to worry about bleeding my bank account
3) very reliable -- you can reach him on a short notice. YOu dont get some admin answer your phone and get answers in 3 business days. You get answers right away!
4) honest --- I have to stress this! For legal industry, WE have a lot of crook lawyers around and most of them will say nice things and do the exact opposite. He does what he says and his actions matches his words.
5) Great court records and legal writing skills --- I've looked up many court records of many other lawyers. I have to say I am not impressed with most of them. He writes well and files timely motions. At one point, he is up against 3 lawyers in a big firm in a trial! You have to give him lots of credits to do that! Most lawyers avoid trials like a plague and ran away from it easily since it was too much work for them. Terance does what it takes to win the case.
Client Advocate -- I know this shall be the default for lawyers. In reality, this doesn't happen very often. I had a lawyer scammed me and it was commonly done in the legal industry. Lawyers are very interested in more billable hours so they tend to mud the waters to make the case extra long and extra complicated to squeeze the money out of the clients. It's the hard truth I learned the hard way. Terance works differently and his goal is to shield the client from potential abuse by the opposing side and resolve the case in a cost-effective manner.
He does sound a bit complicated sometimes to listen since he's highly educated so you have to do your own homework to make sure you understand the legal concept. Being a educated client will make working with him even better.

I hired Terance because he offered his services to my father who lIves across the street from him. Terance is a clean cut, educated (Harvard Graduate) individual who claims he wants to help "low income people" in the community by providing services at a flat rate of $1500 paid at once, two payments or on a payment plan. From the moment we consulted with him, he was arrogant and has a way to make his clients feel small. We hired him to represent my husband in a concealed weapons case. Unfortunately, I'm the only one working at the time and am still recovering from a nasty divorce which left me bankrupt. He made me feel embarrassed to even ask him about his payment options because I had spoken to other lawyers prior to him who said they billed on a monthly basis. He made comments such as "oh I understand if you can't afford my fees, you do need to buy groceries", when I requested a case update (I hadn't heard from him for abut a week) and asked if he hadn't yet begun working our case if we could cancel the contract (we gave him a $500 deposit) and he responded with a claim that he had begun work, never filled us in and presented a bill for much larger than the agreed upon flat rate amount based on "hours worked". I regret hiring him, I only did because my parents insisted I did since they live across the street from him. Every communication, verbal, written or email he comes off with such arrogance and makes every attempt to demean us. It almost feels like he's using reverse psychology to get our one income household to "pay up" in order not to fall into the category he has placed us in. The sentence my husband received was the same sentence, my dislexic uncle, who literally lives out of his van got for the same charges, more weapons and represented himself. I would not recommend him to anyone, unless you're into being made feel inadequate so you're obligated to pay high fees for mediocre work. What a shame and waste of money!
