Wow. It's going to be hard to not get emotional writing this. I first met Cara in 2017, a couple of months into dating the man who would become my husband. He was going into his first questioning, and I showed up to support him. I was terrified for both of us, and she was warm and professional, and the translator that she had found for my husband was just the most wonderful person. I was by my husbands side during every meeting, and sat in the waiting room during every private questioning. Cara was very straight forward in her communication, very compassionate in her delivery, and very right about nearly every outcome. We were all thrown incredible curve balls from this administration that cost us all a great deal of time, stress, and expense. I firmly believe that Cara's experience, her demeanor, her professionalism, and her compassion got us safely and sanely through this journey, and ultimately protected my husbands life in the US. She was there for us via phone, text, and email when we needed her. This journey started in March 2015, and just ended in November 2019, but had the possibility of being dragged out until May 2022. No one could have predicted the complexity, length, and expense of this particular case, as no one has ever been faced with an administration like this, but Cara was very upfront and clear about the possible outcomes each step of the way. I could not be more grateful for her, and will shout her praise from the rooftops at any and all opportunities. For those going through this, trust in Cara each step of the way. She has your best interests at heart, and will give this her all. In the courtroom we saw the annoyance of the judge with other attorneys that weren't prepared, or had multiple attorneys for the same person. When he saw Cara there was a level of respect and appreciation, and the swiftness in which he dealt with our case was smoother than the others we'd witnessed. She was prepared, kind, and professional. This was enough validation to prove that we had chosen the right person to get us through this. It still amazes me that these attorneys and translators, hear and see some of the most intimate and horrific details of someone's life. That must be an incredible burden, and they are true angels for doing what they do. While I'll miss the beautiful view from her office lobby, I couldn't be happier to have this wrapped up, and to know that if we ever need anything that she will be there for us.
