Liner was my state Appointed attorney out of Monterey County California. I was originally Represented by just a normal public defender but When a conflict of interest Had occurred that’s when Steve Lana was appointed to me by the State of California. I was ready to sign a five year bid in a state penitentiary Just so I can hurry up and start my time mind you This would have not been the first time going to the state penitentiary.Liner look at me and said If you can just hold it off for two more weeks in the county jail I could have always dismissed he gave me a 97% chance I look at and said yeah right I can’t do that I’m ready to go up state . That’s when he reply sorry son but as your legal counsel I cannot let you play guilty to something or take this time when legally he knowsI wasn’t guilty and I can beat it. So he walks over to The judge and the district attorney and then back to me and says here you’re going home today but you have to come back to Come back here in two weeks if the district attorney cannot back up is evidence every single one of them 13 charges will be dropped.Unheardof pictures of me red-handed so it seem to be. Two weeks later back in the courtroom 45 minutes takes to say people State of California versus me Count one dismiss count two dismissed …,.And so forth I must’ve shook his hand I Offered to buy him lunch He laughed and said don’t worry about a guy go home and Take care of your family. So if you’re looking for a good lawyer liner is your guy You just have to be straight up with him .He can’t go to bat For you if he doesn’t know what kind of pitches that are going to be thrown !!!!!!

Steve is a top-notch criminal defense attorney. He has defended me in several cases. Unfortunately I have made some bad choices and had to deal with the consequences but Steve gave me the best defense a person could ask for. He took the time to really understand the details of my cases and then put together the best strategy to minimize those consequences. His experience and years of practicing law work in the best interest of his clients. He is worth every penny that he earned in my cases. I really don’t think I could’ve asked for anything more.

The first thing that bothered was that I spent a few hundred just communicating about the case because I had questions and wanted to be included in my case. There were also a lot of things that weren’t correct in the police report that I pointed out that he never tried to get corrected. I don’t even think he sat down in person and met with all the parties and supervisors involved in the case. I think he just sent emails. I spent about $6 grand and got absolutely nothing to show for it. I had to pay another attorney to clean up the mess but he didn’t have enough time to work because Liner used all the continuances and continued to get paid for them. I’m not sure what his specialty is but liner is NOT a negotiator and I don’t believe he cares to do the best job possible. There are some lawyers that care to help people and some that want to be paid and I don’t believe Liner is really interested in helping people.

Steven Liner cares about the law and his clients. His mastery of our legal system assures the best possible defense, no matter your issue. Steven is professional, efficient, qualified, and smart. He will answer your legal questions in an informed easy to understand manner. I hired Steven several years ago in Monterey County and would retain his legal services again. I highly recommend him - he's the lawyer you want on your side.

Mr. Liner is a very professional, caring, approachable attorney. In my case it seemed to be a very complicated up hill battle but, Mr. Liner was able to break it down and show the District Attorney that I was not guilty of the charges brought against me. All charges were dropped and I am now able to get on with my life. My advice is to be honest with Mr. Liner from the start and he will definitely get you the best possible outcome in your case.

Steve has been my savior. He has helped me tremendously through thick and thin. I feel so lucky and thankful that he was my lawyer in all my cases when I made the wrong choices. He is always there when ever I have questions and he follows through with everything he says he will. I am ever so grateful to have Steve in my life.
