Irene Intelligator represented me in a highly contentious case. she was honest and professional. The first time i visited her office, she comforted me and gave me courage. she also explained to me that litigation is expensive and only the attorneys benefit from prolonged litigation. By encouraging me to settle, she was clearly acting in my, as opposed to her own, financial interest. Her goal of trying to settle while at the same time agressively pursuing the case to do so was very obvious. Irene always made herself available and promptly responded to and addressed my concerns. Irene handled my divorce case. She provided considerable advice and guidance throughout the process. Though I had not lived in California for many years, and in fact live quite far away, the distance did not present a problem. She was extremely communicative at all times despite the long distance, and I was very glad to have her represent my case. I would describe her as thorough, meticulous, and highly experienced. I was going through a very bad divorce- representing myself for the most part, when I retained Irene. I not only have multiple small children, but was also exiting an abusive marriage, so my situation was complex to say the least. Prior to Irene’s involvement, other attorneys had made me feel as though I would have to pay a fortune and still end up being dissatisfied with the outcome. They minimized what my children and I had been through, and didn’t seem to comprehend the magnitude of what I was dealing with. I felt like I was in a hopeless situation. Divorce is unpleasant no matter what, but Irene has always shown true empathy for what my children and I have been through. She not only actually knows the law (unlike other lawyers), when she goes to court she is “buttoned up”. She always comes fully prepared and makes sure that I know what to expect. One of the most important things is that Irene under-promises and over-delivers. Irene doesn’t promise me the world, and deliver nothing. She always manages my expectations appropriately, and goes above and beyond to deliver more than I would have expected. Irene is always available and extremely responsive, even when I may have the most simplest of questions. She is not a shark out there just to get your money, Irene really really fights on your behalf. Irene Intelligator in general is a class act, and excellent at what she does, I cannot recommend her highly enough. I am beyond grateful for what she has been able to do for me and my children, and am so thankful I was able to find her!
