I highly recommend Stephen Cawelti. I was very impressed by his professionalism, kindness, and the care with which he handled my case. He was transparent, informative, and advised me honestly throughout the process. I ended up having to drop the case for personal reasons. I grew up in Burbank and my mother still lives there. I looked up attorneys in Burbank to be close by during this process and found this law office. Not only is the staff responsive but very pleasant to work with. The turn around time was quicker than I expected. Thank you all for helping me with my mother with her divorce the process was easy and everyone was always willing to assist with any questions we had.

When having to deal with a very difficult individual that sent us through some ridiculous accusations and obstacles, Stephen and his team came through within a heart beat. Words can’t describe how thankful we are for their assistance in our case and the continued positive outcome. Countless amounts of emails and messages have been sent on our behalf and they continue to be very responsive no matter how much we feel we have bothered them. I have learned so much through this process because of their team and hope to continue to grow and happy to know I have such a great team backing us.

Stephen Cawelti represented me very effectively, in what must be one of the most high conflict, contentious, and stressful divorce cases ever seen in the LA County Family Law Court. It stretched out over an eleven year period before opposing side would agree to a final settlement. During this time Stephen represented me in two child custody hearings where, both times, the Judge awarded me custody of our minor children over their non working full time stay at home mother. Steven Cawelti is impressive in front of the family law Judge. His arguments are well thought out, concise, and persuasive. His administrative staff is helpful, friendly, and quick to respond to requests. I could not be happier with Stephen’s representation and recommend him enthusiastically.

My experience with Stephen Cawelti and Team was overall very positive, and I would recommend them to others, with a few minor caveats to go along with the background for my case. First off, my divorce was non-contentious, as my ex-spouse and I had already done some heavy lifting and come to terms on division of property/assets, and had no children to consider. This meant that no court appearances and legal battles would be involved, and thus that Mr. Cawelti and Team would be assisting me by putting together and filing a “stipulated judgment” on my behalf. Because of the relatively limited scope of my divorce, Mr. Cawelti was able to offer what I thought was a very reasonable fixed price rate, all of which was due up front (following the initial in-person consultation). My initial in-person consultation with Mr. Cawelti went very well, and left me feeling like he would definitely be the one to shepherd me through what was still going to be a difficult process, despite its non-contentious aspect. He was able to answer my many questions, and put me at ease regarding the entire process, which was important. The only caveats that I would mention, have to do with some occasional estimated timeframes from the firm that were missed, and/or communication regarding the need for adjustment to those timelines was slow (i.e. when I should expect to hear back from someone regarding something, or when Mr. Cawelti would be reviewing updated files/information and/or proposed updates to documents from his staff, etc.). Some of these extended timeframes without accompanying or timely communication from the firm, did result in a bit of anxiety on my part, but in the end, everything did work out. All staff that I ever dealt with on the phone and/or via email, was very courteous and friendly; and I am overall pleased with the end result. Overall, I would recommend Stephen Cawelti and his staff, for assistance with a non-contentious (paperwork only) divorce proceeding. His pricing was fair (with no unexpected surprises), and the overall end product was quality, even if the getting there had its occasional and momentary challenges.

If you’re a female do not hire Stephen. He had someone else work on the case and they charged extra for some paperwork thst I never saw when they filed. It’s ridiculous how dare you charge so much money and not do your job am grant the other party what they asked for. DO NOT HIRE HiM !!!!

Stephen is the best divorce lawyer I could’ve hoped to hire. He helped me and my boys in so many ways I can’t possibly list here. His staff is amazing as well. I’m forever in their debt and I consider them the best. His knowledge of the law, the courts, the judges, and all of the intricacies of the judicial system helped us in a very difficult situation. My divorce was a hard and challenging time but Stephen and his staff guided me through it.

I was lucky to have had Mr. Cawelti as my attorney. Not only was he professional, knowledgeable and detail oriented, but he also gave me the peace of mind I needed throughout my divorce journey. I had an attorney for a few months prior to switching over to Mr. Cawelti, so I am fully aware of the difference between a good attorney and a bad attorney, and Mr. Cawelti was definitely the best.
