I contacted Fischer & Van Thiel when I needed a divorce attorney. I met with Attorney Fox, she was just what I needed to guide me thru the difficult times! Of course what should of been a routine divorce, quickly was not. Attorney Fox did the leg work to dig into the issues and kept my retired sheriff husband from taking me to the cleaners!!! After 18 years of marriage, I walked away with my 1/2 of everything thanks to Attorney Fox!

When I finally made the decision to go back to court to fight for custody of my daughter, I was directed to Fischer & Van Thiel LLP. I was warmly greeted when I got there and when we sat down to discuss my options, Mr. Fischer and Ms. Fox were both very knowledgeable and very helpful in explaining to me exactly what my options were and what I could possibly expect from going to court for custody. During the time that they represented me, whenever I needed anything or had any questions, they were there for me. I am very grateful to them and their help through this time. I found them to be very helpful with everything. They walked me through the things that I needed to know for both mediation and all of our court appearances and were more than willing to fight for what I wanted. I would recommend them to anyone who is currently going through what I just went through.

It was nice to have everything taken care of for me and have some things explained that I didn't quite understand. My declaration had to be rewritten several times because the paralegal and attorney on my case kept leaving things out of it that I wanted in. Also, had to be revised for simple spelling and name errors. This is the part where I really feel I got hosed on the fees, but it is what it is. As of right now, I haven't been able to pay my bill and was supposed to do so by the end of the month. Emergencies came up and the funds I had allocated needed to go elsewhere. I'm hoping I can reach some kind of agreement with them to keep my already meager paychecks from being garnished.

Elizabeth Van Thiel did absolutely nothing for me during my case which is still open 2.5 years later. I paid my retainer and got the "Military Discount" for the hourly rate, which was gone before two hearings. At which point she did absolutely nothing to stop my soon to be ex from running all over me and taking to the bank for 3k a month. Worst experience of my life with this firm. They are quick to send letters that you owe money but when it comes time to actually do their job and fight for their client they wont move a muscle.

From day one, Mr. Clinnin was very honest and straight forward. I was able to trust him with my case and knew he would get the best settlement possible. He is honest and a humble human being. He was looking out for my best interest. He is not your typical attorney. His calm persona and attitude made this process a whole lot smoother. We settled out with more than what I was expecting and all my bills were paid and then some! I definitely recommend him to anyone that is looking for a hard working and honest attorney.
