I contacted the office and I was immediately connected with Jeffrey. He immediately heard my issue and started to provide advice on my situation without asking for anything from me. We ended the call the same way too, just asked where I had heard of his office.

We had ongoing issues with our Landlord and we were referred to Jeffrey by a friend and we are so thankful that we were. They took care of getting all repairs done and also got us a large sum settlement that none of us expected. Their team is very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for help when their landlords are not performing. Joe

Attorney Asidi was a pleasure to work with, when we were t-boned in an intersection. Not only did he carefully outline our options, and his methodology, he also advocated endlessly for us, helping us secure a fair settlement. We're super grateful. Will recommend him over and over again.

Esther represented me in the formation and signing of my pre-marital agreement. Throughout the process, she was extremely prompt, thoughtful, and professional. She followed up with me regularly when things were stalling with my fiancé's counsel. She explained the ins-and-outs of our agreement to me patiently and confirmed with me multiple times to make sure I understood what I was signing. She was timely in every response. If my fiancé's lawyer had been even half as conscientious as Esther, the process would have been much quicker. I highly recommend her.

Esther represented me on visitation Modification Hearing order. She took my case about two weeks before the hearing and worked with me to get the supplemental declaration that needed to be prepared and submitted before the hearing. With only two weeks to prepare she was amazingly over prepared, confident and aggressive and did a great job. She had things finished well before the deadline and made it, so I didn't have anything to worry about. I was really impressed. She was available immediately by phone and email she never hesitated to give 100%. Esther was good at listening to me and knowing what to say to get the judge to see what was really going on. she was genuinely concerned about what was in my child's best interest and was very fair. She explained step by step the paperwork and forms to make sure I was comfortable and confident in what I was saying and filling. Family court issues can be highly emotional and stressful, but I felt totally secure during my case. Esther produced the exact results that I required, skillfully and efficiently. Esther is a very professional attorney yet has a warm and approachable demeanor. She remained well-composed, professionally aggressive, consistently on task, and always with a clear focus. She is very passionate about what she does, and it really sets her apart because she really connects with her clients! She handled my case with exemplary professionalism and helped me get through a very emotional and difficult time in my life. She was never tardy in responding to any questions I might've had, she always replied in a timely manner and always had an answer for whatever question I had. She made me feel like I could trust her and had my child's best interest. I also learned from her, how to handle the issues with knowledge and wisdom. The court sided in my favor! I could not be more satisfied with the intelligence, professionalism, and sheer determination of Esther Bitar. I am very happy to offer my highest recommendation to Mrs. Bitar. Thank you!

I was hit by an uninsured motorist. Fortunately I carry uninsured motorist coverage. I suffered an injury that required treatment. I went back and forth with my insurance company for a fair settlement to now avail. I reached out to Mr. Lieber, who contacted my insurance company on my behalf. After a couple of phone calls by Mr. Lieber, I received a payout hire than what I was asking for. Mr. Lieber was very professional, kept me well informed, and got a quick resolution where I had tried for a month before. I have highly recommended Mr. Lieber to family and friends since.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Chatsworth, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
