Currently unable for my fiancée to even get into contact with this man. Or his assistant in which he told him to contact. He then proceeded to lie in court stating they haven’t had any prior contact after we’ve been dealing with this arrest since 08/2023. It’s now almost May of 2024. It’s now only a few days until his next court date and still not able to get into contact with Taj. To where my fiancée has had to request time off from work to walk into his physical office in person to try and get some information on his case and an update on possible charges or what he’s going to push for etc. I’m frustrated for him as he’s trying to better himself since one stupid mistake. This man needs to do better at contacting his clients. Not just the once’s that are physically locked up in jail

I am great full to have had Tahj Gomes to represent my case. You can tell by his demeanor that he cares and will do what ever he can to help. Any body that doesn't respect him and follow his advice or instructions will not understand the ramifications of that.

I recently had the pleasur speaking with Saul Hanson, a highly skilled and reputable legal attorney. From start to finish, my experience with him was nothing short of exceptional. From our first consultation, Saul was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. He took the time to listen to my concerns and fully understand my situation. He provided me with a clear and thorough explanation of the legal process and what I could expect going forward for my daughters case .. His communication skills are exemplary and he made sure I was comfortable.. One thing that stood out to me the most was Saul's integrity and dedication to his clients. Saul's attention to detail and strategic approach to my daughters case was impressive. He left no stone unturned and went above and beyond to gather all necessary information and evidence. He was always well prepared for court appearances and negotiations, and his confident and assertive demeanor was reassuring. I cannot thank Saul enough for his hard work and dedication. He helped me navigate through a difficult and stressful legal situation and achieved a favorable outcome. His expertise in the law and his genuine compassion for his clients set him apart from other attorneys. I highly recommend Saul Hanson to anyone in need of legal assistance. He is a true professional and a kind-hearted individual who genuinely cares about his clients. I am grateful to have had him on my side and I would not hesitate to seek his counsel again in the future. Thank you, Saul, for everything!

I waited eagerly to hear from Tahj regarding my husbands case, knowing that he is very busy. When I finally did I was able to share very openly with him regarding the entire situation and I felt completely heard and understood. I completely trust he is doing everything he possibly can to exhaust his options to get my husband not only the care and attention he needs during this incredibly challenging time for us, but also genuinely cares and understands the situation. He communicates clearly and thoughtfully and is taking every action necessary to make sure that my husband has the best outcome possible from a very complicated and probably all too common of a situation. You can trust that he is considering all options and truly has your best interest at heart.

Matthew Luzaich hands down has to be one of the best attorneys out there! When he represents you in court he makes you feel like you are his top priority. Matthew was very professional and would promptly get back to me every time I contacted him. He was able to get the judge to wave some court fees saving me money in this expensive process. Mr. Luzaich went out of his way to help me after my case was "resolved" with the court. When you hire Matthew S. Luzaich you get the best legal representation, bar none, in Northern California. Mr. Luzaich is a bulldog in court, he knows how to get the job done. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is searching for an attorney.

Im 50yrs. old. And in my past Ive been very fortunate to receive some very good appointed attorney. And I have also had my share. of real Dumptrucks. Mr Henson has been both good and understanding of my schedule allowing me to reschedule and even cover my inability to appear. unlike any other attorney ive ever had represent me. i give him 5 of 5 despite it was on a case that was very small and unlike some of the more complicated ones in my past.

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Chico, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
