Mr. McHugh has been my lawyer since November of 2017. Mr. McHugh is honest and direct in a profession that rarely has either. Mr. McHugh is well respected by his peers and the judges in the Chico area. He doesn’t waste anyone’s time. If you need a child custody lawyer with a moral compass and a willingness to help guide you through the process of doing what is best for your children, then look no further.

I hired Mr. McHugh in November of 2017 and it was the best decision I made for my child custody case. My custody case is a nightmare. Through Mr. McHugh and my own hard work, we slowly but surely have gained ground. Mr. McHugh is honest and up-front about how to handle the twist and turns of family law cases. From what I have gathered over the year, Mr. McHugh is well respected by fellow lawyers and more importantly by judges.

Mr. McHugh is an excellent lawyer. He listened to what I had to say and then was able to achieve everything that I had asked for. He is to the point, has compassion and very professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone that would be needing a lawyer.

I hired Martin McHugh as a lawyer to defend me during a custody case and a domestic violence restraining order. He didn't do much work at all. He had me get all the paper work for him. I ended up settling the battle myself. I was to get my custody papers from him and never received them. I have contacted him many times to get those papers and never succeeded. I just recently asked for my documentation AGAIN (a year later) and was told by the receptionist that she would email them to me. I urged that it was important for me to get them ASAP as I needed them another court date. She took my email down and said she was getting them to me. I waited for quite some time and never received them. I called back to double check that they had the right email, she said yes and she was going to email them. Over 24 hours later and still no email. I've contacted them 2 more times since then and Martin wasn't in the office. Each lady has taken a message but have told me the chances of getting ahold of him on the weekends are rare. I don't recommend him as you will end up representing yourself and waste your money.

Very blessed to have had Mr. McHugh deal with my case. He took the concerns we had with our families to heart and didn't let the other lawyer twist things around. He did his homework with what evidence we had. He stood by myside and the other people that were involved also and we got what we got our restraining orders. With his help everything went smoothly and expeditiously as it could. We appreciate him and his firm and would recommend him to anyone that needs a good attorney. I was referred to Martin McHugh by a criminal attorney that only wanted the best outcome for me and my one year old baby. Our case was sensitive, involving restraining orders and our personal safety. He and his office were efficient with their time balancing a quality job well done without wasting any of my money. Because of Martins passion for well representing his clients, his effectiveness in the court room both in cross examination on trial and speaking for the best interest of his clients and their children in open court to the Judge, and his high level of personal integrity, I would without hesitation recommend Martin McHugh.
