After conducting some due diligence on attorneys in the local area I contacted Steve Costello's law office to discuss my legal situation with him to determine what my options were available to me and the potential ramifications that went along with those options. The initial appointment was very informative and Steve and his staff made my complicated legal situation very comfortable. He handled all of our meetings in a professional manner outlining the process from start to finish, he prepared me for the appointments that I would be required to attend and he accompanied me to all the mandatory meetings. During what was without question a dark and confusing time for me, Steve was an amazing asset. Not only was he always ready and willing to answer any of my questions, but he would normally address concerns before they became apparent. This is the type of counsel you want on your side, someone that has experience, compassion, empathy and patience. Everything was explained in detail including the California exemption which helped me save my home. I had old IRS debts in addition to medical bills from unexpected surgery, etc., and lost income due to Covid. I was made to feel at ease and not judged. Their extensive experience in bankruptcy was evident in the advice and alternatives with examples of outcomes in similar cases. They told me to refer all of my creditors to them which ended the harassing phone calls and giving me relief from the stress. Thanks to their expert advice and kind and compassionate assistance I'm given a clean slate and a chance to rebuild my credit. I live in San Diego and I'm starting a new chapter as a self-employed entrepreneur. Fees were reasonable and worth every penny as now my old tax debt is gone and I stopped garnishment of my accounts.

When you are in financial distress and physical pain it is difficult to think clearly and make good decisions . That, in addition to not understanding a legal process complicates matters even more.
