Attorney Jonathan Dekel is an amazing attorney who knows exactly what he’s doing! I hired him to fight my tickets for me because my insurance rates are high enough (due to an sr-22), and the last thing I need is for my insurance rates to go even higher. He had my ticket dismissed and he has proven to me that I should ALWAYS hire an attorney instead of paying the fine. Jonathan Dekel has earned himself a very loyal client and I will most definitely refer him to all my family and friends when they get a traffic ticket. Thank you Jonathan Dekel!

Jonathan Dekel is very knowledgeable on traffic laws and walks you through the process with exceptional expertise. One thing that impressed me about him was his interaction with us over the phone and how remarkably thoughtful and articulate he was. Jonathan explained that the ticket our teenage daughter received was very challenging but that he would do his best. He handled the case from start to finish and was very straight forward in what to expect and the available options. No lies or bullshit. He emailed and informed us every time there was an update with the case. His fees are very affordable and we were very happy with the results. I highly recommend Jonathan at TKT for any citation and need of representation. I promise you that you will not be disappointed with his excellent work ethics and results.

Highly recommend Jonathan if you ever get a ticket. My company was facing three correction citations and large fines, but Jonathan got them all dismissed for a $25 processing fee! He handled the case from start to finish, made the court appearance (and won!) and processed all the paperwork. And all for an incredibly reasonable fee. The next time you are cited and want the best representation, HIRE TKT REP!

I received a failure to stop citation back in October 2017. I was referred to Jonathan by his former client who had nothing but glowing reviews. Jonathan explained the process - it would take some time, but he would do his best to dismiss the citation. Fast forward 8 months later and true to his word, my citation was dismissed; no fines or points on my record!!!! Thank you, Jonathan! You have a client for life!

Olga is impressive in so many ways, she always had answers for my questions, she knows the best way to negotiate a settlement and is a straight shooter. She could've easily put me on the back burner as my case dragged on, but chose not to. Olga has such a great way about her, she's a truth teller with a great human touch.

I ran accross Mr. Hymans number while doing a Google search and let me tell you, I've never been happier. Andrew (as he introduced himself) was very patient and provided a great deal of advice to me including a few references to help me along the way. Many Attorneys I've spoken with rush me and make me feel less than; Not Andrew. He heard my silent screams and validated them. Andrew is proof that one bad apple does not spoil the entire bunch. By the time the call ended I was asking him for is Avvo info so that I could rate him. Thank you Andrew for your time and your help. If No one else appreciated you my husband Michael and I sure do! Continued Blessings to you sir!

We hired Rahulan to do our family estate plan. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us when explaining all of the things to consider. My spouse and I both have children from prior marriages as well as from our union which makes things a bit more complicated. Rahulan was exceptional in his advice, and subsequent service. I would recommend him to anyone!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Encino, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
