I am very grateful to David Jones and the team at Santiago & Jones for most satisfying results at the end of my case involving California employment and labor laws. Mr. Jones’ adept knowledge and understanding of the labor laws led to a dramatically expedited and successful end to a case that, from all indications, was destined to be lengthy, contentious, and forced into a court trial by the other side. Instead, the clarity of Mr. Jones’ legal arguments to the defendants led to the more sensible option of mediation. The result of that mediation benefited me greatly, in both time and settlement award. David Jones was the first attorney on a list of referrals I received from the San Fernando Valley Bar Association who extended an invitation to meet to discuss my case. I found Santiago & Jones through AVVO and despite the far drive from my home (60 miles in LA traffic) I would highly recommend them and gladly commute hours for their assistance again if I ever needed it. In short, David Jones is an expert! One of the most important things to consider when entering into a relation with any attorney is good communication. With the exception of the initial consultation, where David was trying to get my business, the communication was abysmal: phone calls would go unreturned, emails unanswered, requests to be cc’d on emails with opposing councel were ignored, information vital to my case was mishandled, and ultimately, I was left in the dark about the status of my own case. When I did have the chance to speak to David on the phone, i was rushed or he was distracted. If an attorney doesn’t have the ability to effectively communicate with his own client, then this suggests to me that he is not capable of being a good communicator-negotiator with opposing counsel. I ended up with a horrible settlement most likely due to this reason.

I hadn't ever had to address a legal issue like the one I brought to Mr Jones. Before the end of our first call, Mr Jones already had a plan. The plan was executed and I c ame away with much more than I had hoped. Having studied law myself, I still couldn't have done as good a job as he did.
