I began working with MRS. Grzechnik in September of 2014, and as time progressed my case became more and more complex. Mrs. Grzechnik kept me well informed and gave me good faith in her abilities as an attorney. I am very pleased with the results that MRS. Grzechnik achieved for me in this case. Despite the odds of fighting against the paternal Grandmother of my stepchild, we achieved what was thought to be the impossible and I was granted full custody of my stepdaughter. MRS. Grzechnik is a very reliable attorney. At the end of the day i couldn't have been happier with the results of her hard work. I highly suggest to anyone seeking legal representation to consult MRS. Grzechnik

Mrs. Grzechnik is very reliable. When sent questions or when I asked for updates, I had answers by the close of business the same day. Most times within the hour. She kept me informed of everything as we went and if she didn't know the answer to something she went the extra mile to find out who, what, why or when. She showed early for court letting me know she was there and doing her best to help me. By the time I had to stand in front of the judge, I didn't have to say anything because she had everything taken care of before hand.

Honest, trustworthy, and hard-working Attorney. Understands the value of maintaining an open line of communication with the Client and charges a very reasonable flat-rate fee (i.e. no hidden charges). Answers questions promptly (i.e. same day response). I hired Attorney Grzechnik to complete two (2) debt settlement(s). First debt settlement negotiation began September 2014 and was completed smoothly and expeditiously (less than 90 days start to finish). Second debt settlement negotiation began very recently and is still outstanding; however, I have complete confidence that Attorney Grzechnik will handle the second settlement with no problems whatsoever. Up to this point I can honestly say that I know I made the right choice when I hired Attorney Grzechnik. If you currently have an issue with a creditor or a debt collector, or if you even remotely feel like you may need to hire an Attorney, you should definitely stop wasting time reading on the internet and start taking action now (i.e. contact Attorney Grzechnik). My only regret so far is that I didn’t contact Attorney Grzechnik earlier. My advice to anyone reading this post: Pick up the phone right now and schedule a consult with Attorney Grzechnik. Don’t make the same mistake I made. The longer you wait the worse your situation becomes. Pick up the phone. Schedule a consult. Attorney Grzechnik will help you. Trust me.

Mr. Lund took my case after I had inherited my fathers estate. I was being sued for the litigation my dad had started. The opposing legal team was trying to go after me for the suit my father had started with a different attorney . I needed powerful representation and quickly. After meeting with Mr. Lund I felt that I had a great person on my side. The case took quite a bit of effort to resolve, the other side played very aggressively , mr. Lund was very creative in pushing them into a reasonable settlement.

Atty. Garcia helped me get this through Divorce. I couldn’t done it without her. I’m not familiar and no idea of everything and she helped me explained all the process. I’m so happy with her and her paralegal Leslie is always accommodating and friendly. I’m definitely going to get Atty. again for my next case.

The legal support of the Law Office of Melissa Garcia has ensured that I was able to move through a challenging time in my life. Their legal expertise, counseling and representation ensured I felt safe in court. I was not familiar with filing or navigating through court procedures and Melissa walked me through each step. This made a difference in the way I felt the day of my hearing, which was way more calm. Their team maintained a level of professionalism and empathy that made me feel safe. Melissa and Leslie work together to make sure the client is respected and also give all of the information needed to move through a hearing in court. Thank you to their legal team for this positive and life changing experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Escondido, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
