Posting this review that was sent to Tiffany Andrews following completion of our service. This was never posted on her firm's website. We are writing to provide an objective review of our experience with Tiffany Andrews and her mediation services. Although Tiffany was pleasant to work with, our overall assessment is that the services provided were average. We were disappointed that we never had the opportunity to meet her in person, despite multiple trips to her office. During our case, we couldn't help but notice that the handling of our mediation proceedings resembled that of a general contractor overseeing a construction project. We encountered unexpected changes in Tiffany's team, with members coming and going without prior notice. This lack of consistency had a noticeable impact on the process and left us feeling unsettled. Another area of concern was the significant disparity between our original cost estimate and the final bill. The cost nearly doubled, which was unexpected and disappointing. Our mediation and divorce proceedings were minimal in complexity, as stated by Tiffany herself. Considering the simplicity of the case, we had hoped for more streamlined and cost-effective services. Throughout the process, there were instances where communication and continuity seemed lacking. We often had to repeat information from one meeting to the next, resulting in frustration and delays. It would have been more efficient and productive if there had been better coordination and a stronger sense of continuity between sessions. In summary, while Tiffany Andrews and her team were pleasant to work with, there are clear areas for improvement. Enhancing client expectation management, addressing cost transparency, and ensuring consistent communication and continuity throughout the mediation process would greatly benefit Tiffany and her team. These learning opportunities could elevate the quality of their services, providing clients with a more satisfactory experience. Tom and Naomi

“Tiffany and her team are wonderful! They have great communication skills, within the office and with myself, the client. Each employee that I have spoken to, ranging from receptionist, to office manager, to attorney, has been incredibly kind.”
3
Attorneys who are responsive, accessible, and provide clear explanations
“From the moment I retained ms Andrews she was there for me literally day and night. I had many questions and issues throughout my case and though I don't suggest anyone bothering her after business hours there were a few times I felt I needed to contact her and received a response very shortly after.”
4
Attorneys who are highly respected in their field and achieve successful outcomes for their clients
“Tiffany is an amazing lawyer. She shines in the court room. I recommend hiring her for child & family law and cps dependency court cases. She is well respected in her profession and has solid knowledge of the law.”
5
Attorneys who are dedicated to protecting their clients' rights and interests
“Tiffany and her associate Mende Romaniak were extremely knowledgeable in dependency and easy to reach when I needed them. They supported any direction I wanted to take with my case and handled everything professionally and in a timely matter.”
Cons
1
Billing and cost management can be challenging, with concerns about transparency and unexpected expenses
“The billing was very difficult to follow and I did ask the office if they could discount their rate towards the end as I was spending a lot of money. This was denied immediately. Also, I wish that in the very beginning the office emphasized how costly the whole process could be, and to give "tips" on how to save money throughout the process.”
2
Occasional delays or issues with communication and responsiveness from the firm
“The response drafted by his paralegal was littered with misspellings and grammatical errors. I edited and returned the response, and was assured corrections would not be billable.”

From start to finish, the team at Sapphire has been incredible. How I came to know of the firm is that I was looking for help with a power of attorney for my elderly father. All of the other law firms wanted to charge us $1,000+; however, when I called Sapphire, I spoke with Lisa who quickly guided me through how I could do it myself. The whole power of attorney exercise ended up costing $25 through the self service option. When it came time to restate our trust, I had not forgotten Lisa’s kindness, knowledge, patience, and desire to help. This initial experience of working with an incredible person extended to the entire team at Sapphire. We had the opportunity to work with two attorneys at Sapphire (Ingrid and Heather) and both were incredible with the way they walked us through the restatement process. Our signing appointment with Amanda could not have been smoother. She was super prepared, knowledgeable , kind and on top of every aspect. Leah was also incredible! Every time I called the office, every time I misplaced my email and needed another copy sent, every time I needed to schedule or reschedule, Leah helped with whatever was needed in a timely, kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient fashion. Thank you to the incredible team at Sapphire! We highly recommend this firm to anyone who needs help with their trust!

The team at Sapphire Law amazing! From the beginning, Leah, Lisa, and Ingrid all provided in my family with support through this process. They were efficient, thorough, and most of all was simple and seamless. Each were approximately engaging in the process, but not pushy. Allowing us to review documents at our pace, while checking in periodically to ensure they were meeting our needs. Excellent Customer Service!! We will definitely use them again and refer our friends and family!

I just had a DUI handled by Kelsey Berezin. I am so happy she handled it for me as it went better than I hoped for. When I met Kelsey for the first time, I knew she was the right lawyer to help me, and she did an excellent job. She got my sentence reduced and was better than I hoped for. She did a great job keeping me updated, made sure that I wouldn't miss any deadlines and always made sure I had the info I needed. She was very responsive throughout the entire process. She did my court appearances which I am so thankful for as I didn't have to take off of work to attend. I would recommend her to anyone in need of an attorney! Thank you, Kelsey!!!!

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the expected timeline for my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Folsom, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
