I came to Adam Savin, Way to late. I Received, A TBI, in 1999. Adam did a extraordinary job in reviewing my employment record. In truth, he known as in every other attorney to have a 2nd set of eyes at the report and did now not rate for this.

I had a horrific, very complicated workers compensation case that dragged on for almost a decade. Thank God Adam agreed to take my case after several attorneys previously. The most my previous attorney's could negotiate to settle my case was 30 grand closing out my medical. Adam was able to get me a settlement of over 300 grand. In regards to how he managed my case before settlement, it was much better than the other attorney's I had previously (4). He would actually take issues to court. His paralegal Carlos was also a Godsend. He is the best attorney I have ever had. I would highly recommend him. Thank you Adam. MC.

I am so thankful for everything Adam did to help me along the way. Savin & Bursk is a family owned law firm. I started by seeing Gerorge Svain (Adams’s father - for workers Comp) and when we realized there was a potential personal injury claim - I immediately began meeting with Adam to discuss my options. I really enjoyed working with Adam because he is a young lawyer who is incredibly versed in all things personal injury and extremely knowledgeable of workers comp law. He is very eager to fight for you. We’ve had many conversations of what my life is like post injury and he assured me that he would fight to get me what I deserved! I had a slip & fall at work and ended up injuring my spine, permanent nerve damage & a pain syndrome to name a few. I also suffer from anxiety & depression due to pain and the lack of being able to provide for myself. Savin & Bursk made sure I received psychological care and made sure I made it to the best pain management Dr in Southern California. I truly felt cared for by Adam and his team and I know he had my best interest at heart. During the court process I saw Adam come alive - you could see his passion & love for what he does in each word he spoke. He was charming, eloquent, knowledgeable & fought every day in court for me. I’m happy to say due to Adams hard work I was awarded a 7 figure sum and could not be happier!!! I can never thank Adam enough for what he’s done for me. If you’re looking for a lawyer that is passionate, caring & knowledgeable - give Adam a call you will not be sorry!

My husband was injured at work and was up against a large corporation. Evan Kantz, Esq jumped in and assured him that he was there to help. He was excellent and went to bat for my husband's rights. Evan's expertise and follow through settled the case in my husband's favor. Both monetarily and with future medical. He is the best!!!

Evan S. Kantz is the best Workers’ Compensation Law attorney I have ever worked with. From our first meeting, he explained everything to me in simple terms I could easily understand and was always very responsive when I had questions outside of our scheduled meetings. I not only recommend Evan, but I guarantee once you have used his services… you too will look no further. He and his great legal team composed by Chris Malter, Alma Oseguera and Robert Mueller, respond in an extremely timely matter, he and his team are very knowledgeable, and trustworthy people. There is no other attorney that will work as hard for you. I used Evan’s legal services and found he is a wonderful attorney to work with. I could not have been happier with this experience, and I will never go anywhere else. If anyone is looking for a knowledgeable attorney in the area of Workers’ Compensation Law, then look no further and ask for Evan S. Kantz at Savin-Bursk Law.

  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Granada Hills, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
