So happy I went with this firm. Chris Taylor was so helpful throughout the whole process. Very professional, very smart and made himself available throughout the whole process. as a struggling student making minimum wage he even worked with me financially. He was able to get my sentence to literally the ideal deal. Couldn’t be more grateful.

I’m a Military Veteran and in March 2018, I was pulled over, arrested and charged with my 2nd DUI within 5 years. I was still on probation from my 1st DUI and I didn’t know what to do. Searching for local DUI Lawyers, I decided to put my trust in The Law Offices of Taylor & Taylor after reading the reviews prior clients had posted. Upon meeting with Mr. Christopher Taylor, I knew I made the right decision based off the reviews I had read. Mr. Taylor explained the process we were about to go through very thoroughly while answering & reassuring any questions I had. I felt confident that Mr. Taylor would handle my case and provide the best possible outcome for my current situation. Two months later; I got pulled over AGAIN, arrested and was charged with a 3rd DUI. Still under the council of The Law Offices of Taylor & Taylor; Mr. Taylor was empathic and nonjudgmental upon hearing of my 3rd DUI arrest. Mr. Taylor laid out a new plan to address my 3rd DUI with the hopes of still achieving a successful outcome. Keeping in mind my Military service, Mr. Taylor discussed my possibility for eligibility into a Military Diversion Program. Through Mr. Taylor’s dedication, tireless effort and unwavering support to my case, he was successful in negotiating with the Orange County DA’s Office which allowed me to be accepted into the Military Diversion Program. July 2020 I successfully completed the Military Diversion Program with the outcome being ALL DUI’s expunged from my record. I rejoice today knowing there are programs out there for Veterans here in Orange County who made poor choices and giving them the education they need to achieve success. Christopher Taylor; I’m forever grateful to the new beginning that I’ve been given. Thank you again for everything you did for me and getting me into this gift called “Military Diversion” while encouraging me every step along the way.

I had a 2nd DUI after 7 seven years, I didn't realize how much more these get punished, as I learned of the consequences I was devastated and full of anxiety. Thank God, I hired Chris Taylor, he guided me through the entire process, from day 1 he was realistic about the outcome and immediately put me to work on my case. it took about 10 months to get my sentence, it was very stressful times. My work has zero tolerance for DUI, so I was sure I would lose my job. So one thing that helped me a lot is that somehow Chris was able to synchronize the timing of the DMV suspending my license with the court proceedings. Chris is a true professional in what he does, polite, patient, he will answer all your questions. Chris knows a lot of people in the courts which makes You feel comfortable in front of the judge. Chris offers suggestions in those desperate times is great to feel safe in the middle of this situation. At this point, almost 2 years after my arrest, I have completed all programs except the DUI school which last 18 months and most important, I was able to keep my job, don't even know how this was possible but it took a lot of hard work on my side too. Overall, I am satisfied with the outcome and happy for my new life. I highly recommend Chris Taylor for your surprising and unexpected DUI case.

As you can imagine, getting a DUI was a pretty overwhelming experience, especially for someone like me who has never been in a predicament with the law. After the incident I was extremely anxious because of how this would impact my career as a physician. Christopher Taylor was recommended by a friend who lived in Miami. My first conversation with Mr. Taylor was not what I expected. He really put me at ease and I knew that he had my best interest at heart just by the tone of his voice and how reassuring he was that everything would be ok. I will never forget ending that first encounter and thinking how lucky I was that he would be representing me. Mr. Taylor not only shows concern and empathy for your individual situation at hand, but he is well versed in this subject matter and has a lot of experience to ensure he is going to do the best that he can representing you. Communication from him and his office staff is superb and he is easily accessible even if he has to return the call or email within a 24 hour period. As you can imagine, everything worked out for me. I was able to complete my residency program and now am completing a fellowship elsewhere. A major concern of mine was my ability to obtain a medical license, but I can happily say I have my license now. Mr. Taylor is very well connected and would be the best lawyer to represent you in California. I would highly recommend him without any hesitation. I couldn’t have asked for a better lawyer to represent me during such a difficult time in my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better attorney to represent me during such a difficult time in my life.

As a out of state first time offender, I was scared out of my mind. Through extensive research and consulting with friends in the area and field, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to have Chris Taylor on my case. Chris helped me though every detail, answered every question, replied quickly and was able to ensure the best possible outcome for my case. If you are out of state, in state, moving, so overwhelmed you don't even know what state you are in ... please call Chris. I cannot thank Chris enough for helping me.

Mr. Miller handled a business litigation case for my family. There was a lot on the line financially for us. Adam was professional in every way. He helped calm our fears about the lawsuit and would answer and return our phone calls immediately. He had a solid strategy and was victorious in the end. We had already come to terms with a certain amount of money we would be out, but in the end, we weren't out any money and Adam's fees were very reasonable.

We needed a real estate attorney to help us work ourselves through a fairly complicated real estate deal that involved a properties purchase, modifying the existing property lines to new locations, placing deed restrictions on the remaining land to be sold and finally, a sale of the residual property to our new neighbors. Alex was pretty much a best case scenario. He was enthusiastic, forward thinking and finally, very reasonable with his billings. We are completely satisfied with our dealings with him, and recommend him without hesitation.

I suffered a dog bite that could have ended much worse than it did and left me with a scar. I had no insurance at the time and ended up with costly ER bills. I contacted John as I had no idea how to handle this complicated situation on my own. From day one, John was empathetic and reassuring that he'd do his best to help find a proper resolution. From my experience, I can tell he genuinely cares about the well-being of his clients. He was always ready to answer calls and kept me up to date during very complicated times. We recently wrapped up the situation and he was able to reach a resolution that we were both comfortable with. I really can't recommend John enough. If you ever find yourself in such an unfavorable situation as I did, reach out to John.

My wife suffered a traumatic incident in which a neighbor's pit bull dog killed our dog while she was on a walk and pushing our 1 year old in a stroller. We later came to learn that the pit bull dog had attacked another family that same day causing serious injuries. It was truly a horrific time for us not knowing if or how we could ever recover from this event. With John's help, we were able to pursue and ultimately reach a settlement with the homeowner's insurance company for our loss and suffering. John also helped me get the word out to the community, joining me at a neighborhood meeting that was organized to address concerns with dog attacks in the area. John is a true professional. He knows the law and he understands the process by which matters such as ours are resolved. This was tremendously valuable to us. John is honest, diligent, and forthcoming with his opinions yet maintains a steady and remarkable composure when dealing with a case. I am truly grateful that we found John to help us out.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Irvine, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
