I started with a complex, non-modifiable, real estate related 12-year-old spousal support agreement that had become increasingly difficult for me to uphold (I am the one providing support) and that no longer felt remotely equitable given many changes in circumstances for both me and my ex. After being told “sorry, you’re screwed” by at least one other attorney I had consulted, I was introduced to Lauren Mullee. During our introductory call, I realized I’d found a Family Law Attorney with the imagination, professionalism, guts, honesty, ethics, and knowledge who could chart a path forward for me. Out of the gate, Lauren explained the options ahead (that there were options was itself a relief), and the risks involved with each option. From day one, Lauren was judicious with her time (and my budget), a brilliant strategist, flexible and without ego, a great writer, and hilariously funny given the context of our project. Ultimately, I was able to open back up doors of communication with my ex-husband – coached wisely and empathetically by Lauren on everything from content to tone – and reached a new mutually acceptable, court-signed order (while avoiding going in front of a judge) that I can much more easily live with, and that my ex agreed to amicably. I literally use the word “miraculous” when I describe the outcome that she led me to. So grateful to have met and worked with Lauren Mullee and her team!
