I was introduced to Farid and his partner by my friend in the aftermath of my immigration case being denied. I had been given thirty days to reply so I after consultation with my attorney at that time, I decided to file a motion to reopen the case and reconsider the decision. With only a week left for submission, the attorney drafted a response but it was not up to my satisfaction and I was on the verge of losing hope. It seemed that my world had turned upside down. It was a stressful and crucial moment as all my hard work and my family’s lives were in a limbo and dependent on the outcome of this case. I sounded my predicament to my friend on a Saturday night and told him that I have only five business days left till Friday to submit my reply. He advised me to get a second opinion. He immediately contacted an attorney he had worked with before on the west coast. She replied promptly despite being on a family leave on the same day and connected me to her partner Farid Masoud. Initially, I was hesitant how was it going to work as I was on the east coast but Farid helped build confidence with me on my situation. The action all started on Monday the next week. I emailed him the letter of denial and draft motion. He then called me, introduced himself to me and got the background information on the case and asked me the all relevant questions. He treated me with compassion, respect and dignity. I immediately knew that this guy knows what he is doing and that I was in the safe hands. He worked day and night and sent the revised letter on Wednesday at 1:46 am (Can you believe it? Yes, 1:46 in the morning!) Amazing! Within thirty six hours. This quick and prompt response was astounding. This meant that he really showed his concern, took all the matter seriously and was cognizant of the time constraint and severity of the situation. This was the first thing that struck me. As I read through the draft letter, I found that he had perused the letter of denial and draft motion meticulously. He took one denial point at a time, refuted it by with one crisp sentence italicizing and emphasizing it and making it centered underlined heading of the paragraph. Underneath, he supported the point by providing his solid arguments by vividly quoting the references from the laws, rules and regulations by emphasizing and underlining the words or sentences at relevant places and elaborating them clearly at the same time thoroughly and strongly defending my stance. For example, he cited the current rulings and refuted them by arguing that they didn’t apply retrospectively in my case. That was absolutely brilliant and effective argumentative writing and presentation of the motion/case. It gave me a new perspective, had all the right ingredients for convincing with supporting arguments and ignited my hope. It was evident that he had a firm grip and command in legal matters in my case immigration matters. I submitted the motion by incorporating Farid’s draft. Guess what? It worked and I got the good news. The case that seemed impossible, Farid made it POSSIBLE! I really appreciate his willingness to engage and help at such short notice and deeply grateful to him for providing invaluable comments and insights, the moral support, help, concern and devotion for our case. Farid has proven to be a super helpful, polite, reliable, compassionate and effective counsel and I highly recommend him!
