What had started out as a meritless accusation of ‘assault” which I believed I could manage by myself, evolved into a substantial ‘binder’ of accusations, irrelevant ‘evidence,’ wishful thinking, exaggeration, and flat, outright lies. Neither my wife nor I ever imagined that we would someday be defendants in a courtroom. Up to this point in our lives, ‘Matlock’ and ‘Perry Mason’ was as close as we had come to facing accusations in front of a judge. I had not a clue as to how to approach this new mountain of material that I had been handed and knew that I needed help. Thankfully, I stumbled across the website of ‘The Law Offices of Anna Yum’ and immediately felt that this was the right place for us. We arranged for a consultation and subsequently met with Christopher Lucero, an associate attorney. From the moment of our first contact, we knew Chris Lucero was the right person to help us. For the first time in three weeks, we felt relief and hope. Among other things, his knowledge, experience, and honesty were bound together by unmistakable integrity, He intently listened to our story; he gathered and researched details that I would have dismissed or overlooked. While he reassured us that we were on very firm ground, he countered with the reminder that while ‘Truth’ is of utmost importance, there are no guarantees in a courtroom, I really appreciated him for that; had I been prone to hype and false reassurance, I would have gone with an attorney who advertises on billboards like the ones depicted on ‘Better Call Saul.’ Before court began, my wife, Kathryn, and I decided that win or lose, we would be at peace because Chris had earned our complete trust; he was the best attorney anyone could ever hope for. Watching him in the courtroom will always be an unforgettable experience; simply put, he was awesome! His presentation to the judge and his cross-examination of the person who made these accusations were logical, concise, and formidable. In the end, Chris succeeded in getting this case dismissed on all three counts. Several months after this, he went to court on our behalf and successfully argued that the person who initiated this action should also pay our attorney fees. Chris is a skilled and gifted attorney who fought hard for us and won; this alone is reason enough for a positive review. But Chris does much more than simply try to “win a case.” He genuinely cares for the people he represents. The support and understanding that he extended toward us went far beyond our expectations. We are and always will remain extremely grateful and appreciative to Chris for being a great person as well as a great attorney.
