Elif worked on my wife's case around 2013. My wife had been previously married on a conditional green card, but returned to her home country without properly closing her GC when the marriage failed. When I met my wife I was an expat living outside the US, and we found out she had a deportation order that was a few years old even though she had already left the US. So getting the court to reopen her case required knowing the ins-and-outs of the system. Elif knew exactly what to do and filed the correct joint motion to have my wife's deportation order terminated. Fast-forward to 2021 and my wife just successfully received her US naturalization document. I got married to a USC in 2011. Between 2011 and 2012 I saw hell. My wife eventually withdrew her petition for me to adjust my status to that of a resident. I received a letter from USCIS shortly after, that my status has returned to the status I had before my wife filed the I-130. I started researching immigration lawyers in Los Angeles.
