If I hadn’t retained Mr. Loncar as my attorney, I know that my life would be ten times harder than it currently is. Do not waste your time retaining or looking into ANY other attorney. This is the most blessed decision I have ever made. After consulting Mr. Loncar for the first time, and checking into his page through Avvo.com; I knew that this was the lawyer that I needed regardless of the case, this is the man that you would want fighting for you. He is a man of strong integrity, and is quick to listen. Very professional in patience, and took the time to hear any detail that could have been potentially overlooked by someone else. Took every phone call and led me in the right direction at every break point along the case. Nicolas’ ten plus years of expertise, and aggressive action in fighting for one’s rights, demonstrates he is the best choice for your counsel.

Hopefully you are lucky enough to secure Nick as your defense attorney. When I first reached out to him I was a bit of a hot mess. Not sure what to do with my case, Nick took the time to listen. He gave me the confidence and knowledge to make the right decisions to give me the best chances at winning my case, while treating me with the upmost respect and dignity. Punctuality, follow up, responding to any of my calls or emails, allowing me to review any and all documentation prior to him submitting any, copying me on anything whatsoever to do with my case, these seemed like normal protocol. His attention to detail is impeccable. He is articulate, professional, unbelievably knowledgeable, passionate and a true asset to have on your side. He is the reason you pay for a lawyer. I couldn't have found a better attorney. He won my case because he was relentless, confident, persistent and detailed oriented. Most people in my situation would have taken the plea offer, but based on what I knew of Nick and his experience in legal matters, I knew he could win this case. While it was a gamble, he gave me the confidence, while still providing me all my options, to go all in. I'm absolutely grateful for his hard work. Even if we would have lost, I know he did absolutely everything in his power, covered every angle and left no stone unturned. Court rooms, judges, prosecutors... All are intimidating, nerve racking and scary. Nick will give you the best chances to win against them and believe me, you'll need someone you trust and that has your best intrests at heart when you are up against them. If you need help, if you need the best representation available, you need to call him. He is what every lawyer should aspire to be and what every prosecutor should fear. He will give your case the attention it deserves! Nick, my friend, thank you! Words cannot express my gratitude! You are an outstanding lawyer!

I checked AVVO.COM since LAC Bar Association and Beverly Hill Bar association couldn't find any atty for me..I did not have much money after jailing. since I am a queer with AIDS, I did not want to go back to 'now wealthy arrogant country, south korea'... With unstoppable zeal to help other people, Mr.Loncar took time to listen to my poor English, and he sent 2 documents via email, NO CHARGE, NO GIMMICKS, With that documents( penal code 1473.7: post conviction relief,to withdraw plea and kill Deportation), I WENT BACK TO DEPT 133(FOLTZ CRIMINAL COURT), I FOUGHT INTELLIGENTLY AGAINST DA AND DA'S IMMIGRATION EXPERT over 3 hearings. I WON !!! I am permanently indebted for his unselfish vigorous willingness to help. HE CHARGED NO MONEY ~~ ! I WON ! THAT MEANS MORE THAN 50 HIGH RANK LAPD AND FORMER LAPD CHIEF(CHARLIE BECK) AND LAFD PROFESSIONAL INTERNAL AFFAIR, OIG, LAC DA AND MORE WILL GET ARRESTED OR INDICTED !! I have used attys all my life. I HAVE NEVER MET ATTY LIKE MR.LONCAR WHO DOESN'T CARE MONEY NOR PUSS ! HE IS MY TRUE HERO !!

Nicholas Loncar is an incredibly knowledgeable attorney. Every since my first phone call to him , he has been incredible! He is very easy to speak to and I recommend him highly to anybody seeking legal counsel. In my particular case, right from the beginning Nicholas has been very upfront about the case and I felt he genuinely cared about my situation. It is very refreshing to see there are attorneys out there who put their client first. Nicholas listens to your issues, clearly lays out all of your options, and then works with you to follow an aggressive plan of action to make sure you get what you need. In my case, when we had lost all hope, Nicholas with his excellent command over law and his 200% efforts was able to get us a dismissal! Nicholas is very honest, responsive and professional. He has also got great connections via his legal network. I would give him two thumbs-up and highly recommend them to anyone seeking excellent legal advice. Thank you very much for all your help Nicholas!

I found Atty. Alix on google and just tried to inquire about my immigration status. She was very helpful as she tried to explain everything to me that is accordance to the law and her experience as an immigration attorney. It gave me a breather because I can totally depend on her guidance and expertise and not to merely depend on hearsays or what we read on the internet. I highly recommend this attorney as she is very prompt and respond quickly on emails. I wish her more luck and success!

From the first call with Anna, I felt supported and heard, which was important to me given the nature of my case. Anna was realistic and honest in providing her opinion, while still maintaining empathy and taking great care to make sure my asks were represented. She navigated my case meticulously, and I felt empowered to have someone of her calibre by my side. As a young person with no experience, Anna spent many phone calls working through questions I had and explaining the nuances of different elements I was confused about. She always had suggestions and explanations which I appreciated, and helped me understand the rhythm of the process. We were able to reach a speedy conclusion and I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful attorney despite the circumstances that led me to her!

In addition to being exceptional at her job and incredibly professional, Anna handled my case with great empathy and patience. I'm sure a lot of the people she represents come into the situation with a lot of stress and anxiety - I sure did. She walked me through the process, laid out my options, and answered every single one of my questions with zero judgement. It's been an interesting "silver lining" to have such delightful interactions with Anna in the midst of all of this. Having Anna advocate for me brought so much peace into my life during a time of stress and I can't recommend her enough. Thank you again for your expertise and time!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Los Angeles, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
