I hired Mr. Gold after getting a dui and facing up to a year in jail. Mr. Gold gave me a plan, followed up EVERY week, kept me accountable, was HONEST about what I was facing and what was in and OUT of his control. The plan took effort and time; I had to stay on top of it weekly. However, it worked!!! He was able to show the court that I was serious about changing my behavior and I avoided jail time!!! The best part, I am now sober. He is an “in your face” attorney. He told me my truths and it was hard to hear, but it was the truth. Getting a DUI is very overwhelming in itself, and getting started with legal representation is equally overwhelming with the many, many options of lawyers out there. Feel free to call a few different firms before you chose who to go with, but be prepared to be filled with false promises of getting your DUI wiped away. Unless you weren't drinking at all, you got charged with drinking and driving, and will have some level of punishment, make no mistake about it. I found Gold & Witham, and spoke with Jeff Gold. Their approach is having you putt in work in advance of your hearing, showing effort and remorse, and will work to get your punishment reduced according to the amount of effort you have done to show the court you are taking this charge very serious and will never be back in their courthouse again. Gold & Witham pride themselves on very minimal repeat offenders based on their approach, and the work the individual has to do to ensure they are never going to get a DUI again. I was facing a full DUI conviction with an outside chance of a reduction to a Wet & Reckless. During my hearing in court, the DA and Judge appreciated all the work I did in advance of my hearing, and even thanked me for the apology letter Jeff made me write to court. Jeff was successful in getting my DUI reduced to a Wet & Reckless, and I couldn't have been more relieved! If you want a lawyer who is going to be very straight forward with you, answer all your questions, call you weekly to check in with you and keep you accountable, and fight to help you reduce your punishment (and there will be a punishment, make no mistake about it.
