I have worked with Dan Weintraub and Jim Selth as a colleague on numerous mutual client matters over several years. Dan and Jim provide truly exceptional representation in navigating resolutions for their clients. They are extremely knowledgeable about all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code, they keep to a high ethical standard in their practice by putting the client’s interest first and they are creative in pursuing effective solutions for both their debtor-side and creditor-side clientele. Dan has tremendous ability to move parties in a negotiation towards objectives that serve the common interest for all sides to solve problems in a meaningful and expeditious manner. Dan is also a concierge for his clients, pulling together key talent to manage complex client matters with deftness and decorum. Jim orchestrates case strategies with precision and a depth of knowledge that rivals his peers. Jim identifies a path through the potential hazards of litigation with an attention for the long-view and a favorable outcome. Dan and Jim are formally recognized by their colleagues for excellence and it is easy to understand why having worked with them so often. I recommend their firm first any time I have a client who seeks relief from financial obligations that have grown beyond layman management, as well as, any time I have a client seeking to collect judgments owed. H Granados Communications, Inc., retained Weintraub & Selth in late 2011 to represent it in its successful Chapter 11 restructure. The case was discharged in 2014. W&S representation was invaluable. At the beginning W&S listened carefully to what we had and what we needed to accomplish with the bankruptcy. They made sure they understood the risks involved, especially those that could derail the process. We got off to a strong start. This included a cash collateral order that worked for our company and circumstances, and, that enabled us to stabilize and ultimately to survive the process. A major issue was resolving unpaid payroll taxes with the IRS and with EDD. W&S encouraged us to put together a plan that we believed we could deliver on. We did. W&S advocated it. And it was accepted by the IRS and EDD, and, confirmed by the Court. Our case could have derailed at any time. W&S, again and again, and promptly, resolved issues related to this bankruptcy. Subsequent to the discharge of the case, HG has retained W&S as general counsel. The services and introductions have been tremendously to our advantage.

I first met Dan Weintraub about eight years ago.  I had a hotel project under construction and Imperial Bank, my lender, stopped honoring my construction loan draws forcing me to fund my construction out of my own pocket.  Because the bank had breached its obligations to me, I chose to stop making my loan payments .  It soon became clear why Imperial stop funding my loan. Imperial collapsed and was taken over by the government and was than acquired by City National Bank.  City National claimed I was in breach and threatened to foreclose on my project. That was when I found Dan. I interviewed him and found him to be confident, experienced and knowledgeable. He set up a meeting with the head of City National's workout group and within one hour, had the bank willing to completely restructure the loan in my favor including making additional advances to me.  Since that time, I have used Dan and his firm in connection with all legal matters that I have. He is aggressive and creative, a top-notch problem solver and a great negotiator and strategist. While he is first and foremost a workout attorney who focuses on saving small and midsized businesses, his skills are such that I have engaged him as my outside General Counsel. In connection with a large development which is currently underway, he has put together and supervised the development team, always ensuring that my interests and those of my family come first.  I recommend him highly and without any hesitation.

I met Dan Weintraub in 2016 when the Company I was managing needed to wind down and close. In the process of closing there were many outstanding accounts payable that were owed, ongoing contracts and two large class action lawsuits. Through the hard work of Dan, we were able negotiate the accounts that were owed and end our contracts. Some vendors were not easy to work with and filed lawsuits, but Dan and his team were quick to resolve those cases before they got out of hand. The labor class actions were also resolved in ways that made us very happy. While the details of the settlements are confidential, I believe that all employers would be happy with the results for the position we were in when we had to close the business. Not only was Dan able to provide exceptional legal counsel he was also able to provide wisdom and thoughtfulness during a very stressful time. Sometimes you just need a reassuring voice that you will get through the stressful process that you are going through. Dan’s billing is also favorable and pro client. I’ve worked with many attorneys throughout my career and many seem to bill just for the sake of billing and getting a paycheck. Dan and his office are concerned about the client and make legal fees fair. It is very rare that I take the time to write a review about a service I receive, that’s because there is almost always something wrong that makes you hesitate in doing so, not when it comes to Jim Selth. He has always come through in a very professional, timely and responsible manner. He is one of a kind, and I can all heartedly vouch for him and for his services without any hesitation whatsoever. Simply put, he is the BEST!!! I highly recommend Jim Selth, because, although my case has been closed for over three years, when I needed him to locate few documents related to my case, he took the time of finding them and forwarding them to me immediately, even though he had just returned from a vacation.
