I highly recommend Michael Kraut if you need a criminal defense lawyer. I recently caught one of my tenants repeatedly breaking an important house rule. When I confronted her about it she called the police afterwards and made false assault charges against me which automatically triggers a criminal investigation. I had never been in need of a defense attorney and finding one that actually cares about the specifics of your case and leaves no stone unturned to help you retain your hard fought for integrity is not easy. I can honestly say that Michael Kraut is one of those attorneys and I bless the day I decided to chose him. I recommend him from the bottom of my heart to anyone in need of a caring and knowledgeable attorney.

Look no further! Long story short, I was hit with a DUI/Refusal. I knew I need a powerful attorney so I went on the internet to do my research. After hours of search I ended up calling Michael to discuss the matter. He returned my phone call within minutes. Once I retained him I got nervous because I did not know if he could help me with my case because I knew there were a lot against me and I know some of my friends got lawyers that didn't do much. Then the time came for the DMV hearing. I showed up and once it started I was impressed. This guy knows his stuff. He was persistent and found everything little thing to argue about within the law. He really does protect his clients. Just trust him.

One night driving home near my place in Beverly Hills I made the mistake of answering a quick text and was pulled over. As the Beverly Hills PD is very strict the next thing I was arrested my vehicle searched and charged with felony of possession of an illegal substance. Before I knew what hit me I was facing some hefty charges and it was apparent that I had been made an example out of. None the less if I didn’t get some professional advice quickly I would be facing considerable charges and this could cause an affect on my life that would have unrecoverable consequences. As I had never been in trouble before I immediately panicked, didn’t know who to talk to as I didn’t want anyone to know or family to find out about this as I was VERY embarrassed. I immediately started to interview and dove into some petty extensive research on attorneys for this type of charge. I have one thing to say, SAVE YOUR SELF the headache, heart ache and countless hours of time I wasted. After meeting with 5 attorneys I fell upon Michael and it was like night and day. His level of professionalism and integrity he operates from is far superior than anyone else I have ever met in his field. Obviously coming into these type of situations like some of us face unfortunately they could have a huge impact on your lives. I couldn’t talk about this to anyone so it was eating me alive, i couldn’t eat, sleep or focus on my business it was killing me from the inside out. He assured me with a ROCK SOLID PLAN how he was going to go after the case and his plans was better then the other attorneys that I had interviewed. As a former DISTRICT ATTORNEY and knows the business inside and out. He did exactly that and executed it as he said he would being very supportive of my constant checking ins along the way. He was able to get the case dropped from a felony and then was able to get me a deal which meant as soon as I completed a few NA meetings, the case was dropped. As with it being foreign territory for us with a hell of a lot at stake we are sometimes not the easiest to deal with with a ton of anxiety. If you want to put your best foot forward I highly recommend having Michael represent your case as I feel there is no one more focused and passionate at defending criminal law in this city. “GOD BLESS YOU, MICHAEL KRAUT!!” Getting pulled over after a couple of glasses of wine and being slapped with a DUI for the first time ever was the most TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE in my entire life!! I was so scared, and although I didn’t feel drunk, my BAC was over the legal limit, and at that moment I was just - SCREWED - in my mind. Nothing like this had ever happened to me, let alone GOING TO JAIL and being in a cell with other women who were prostitutes, armed robbers, Identity thieves – you name it. No other experience had ever made me feel that low and full of shame. I was now a “criminal”. To add insult to injury, the cops treated me like I had just committed an act of terrorism and were LESS THAN NICE, to put it in short. Being someone with no prior criminal record - EVER, an educated person with a good heart and someone always willing to help others in need, it was a HUGE blow to my self worth to be treated like a common criminal, and I now faced the criminal charges of a DUI, so the nightmare continued beyond the jail part, and I knew I was in for months of more terror and stress. I did a LOT of research on the internet and compared various lawyers I’d found. They all seemed to have big promises, but what stood out for me was that Michael Kraut was Harvard Law educated, had AMAZING reviews (I spent a lot of time in awe reading what he had done for others and I was VERY impressed), and the best of all reasons I chose him (and I thank GOD I did!!!) was that he was actually a former D.A. prosecutor for DUI offenses! He has been on the other side of the system, and is EXTREMELY WELL CONNECTED. He knows the deputies, DMV officers, other attorneys I asked him about – the man knows EVERYONE, and believe me, he knows how it ALL works -from BOTH sides. My favorite thing about Michael Kraut was that He ALWAYS answered his phone. Not some answering service, not an associate – it was always HIM. I probably annoyed him in the beginning because although I didn’t want to keep bothering him, I had a LOT of “What if’s” and “Will I’s”. Michael is a very “To-the-point, no-nonsense” person. It wasn’t only his way of alleviating my stress by reminding me to stay calm and not to over-think things (which I do), but he had confidence every time I talked to him or sent an email (which he ALWAYS promptly responds to, as well) that gave me the secure sense that he really had everything handled, so I stopped feeling the need to contact him. I didn’t have to worry about being in court – he does all of that, or going to my DMV hearings – he does all of that, too. You just hire him. He jumps. He runs. He does it ALL. The outcome of my case was certainly not one I expected: Less than a month after I hired him, he called me and asked if I was ready to hear some good news. I thought perhaps he might tell me my fine was being reduced, or something to that effect at BEST. He calmly told me my case had been DISMISSED!!! I think I was in disbelief and he must have felt my silence of disbelief, because he then calmly clarified that it was OVER and that my “NIGHTMARE WAS FINISHED”. My screams of joy and thanks probably broke the poor man’s eardrum (Sorry, Mike!) and he then politely said he had to go attend to another issue. All I could manage to get out to him amidst my confusion, relief, questions and thank you’s before he had to get off the phone was a huge “GOD BLESS YOU!!!” and I swear I could “hear” him smile over the phone as he said “Oh, well thank you!” and politely excused himself to end the call. Had I not hired Michael Kraut, I could have had more to lose than one ever wants to even think about: My job, a TON of my time, a lot of money in fines, higher insurance rates, my clean record, not to mention my dignity. He really was a Godsend to me and I still want to pick up the phone sometimes and just keep thanking him (and yes, he would answer, but he is a BUSY man and I’ll leave him alone ). How can I express how relieved and pleased I am with Michael's professional abilities to have my Felony brought down to a misdameanor to a possible dismissal with deferment. Early this year, I was arrested unexpectedly for a misdemeanor DUI. I only had a few drinks, and did not think much of it, as I drove home. I was pulled over for tinted windows, by CHP in Rowland Heights. The officer decided to give me a field sobriety test since it was Saturday night. I passed everything, and submitted to the chemical test. I was then taken into custody soon after. I was in complete shock and disbelief. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. In 2012 I was charged with two counts of assault with deadly weapon charges one count of domestic violence and one count of attempted murder by Van Nuys Da's Office my bail as $1,100.000 due to 3rd strike allegations by the Da's office I was depressed and sitting in a maximum security jail in downtown Mens Central Jail with no hope. Due to the seriousness of the charges against me I contacted a different attorney from jail who initially took my case after a week went by and I appeared Van Nuys court I was still sitting in custody and the Judge didn't lower my bail because of flight risk. I then contacted Kraut Law Group and spoke with Michael Kraut I heard his the best in L.A. initially I was skeptical and as everyone knows lawyers never come through what they promise at the end they just want to take your money and make you plead guilty and save their reputation front of Da's and Judges. Mr. Kraut appeared in court first appearance and got my bail reduced to $250,000.00 and got me released same day on a bond I didn't believe saw my case and immediately understood what was going on and my ex wife had tried to gain custody of my children since I had 100% custody and tried to get advantage in family court. The District attorneys office was fighting very hard and in fact but end of the Mr. Kraut brought everything in to light to the Da's office and the Judge not once he cared about what the Da's office thought of him or his reputation and future relationship with the Da's office before me! I appeared maybe 7 times in court and my lawyer Mr. Kraut got the whole thing dismissed on April 2nd 2013. Thanks to him now I can go on in my life.!!!!!

I was recently arrested for the first time in my life. Not knowing what to do or who to trust, I'd hired the first lawyer that I found online and he was doing nothing for me. In fact, I found out that he incriminated me and refused to work with the police investigator on my case. I quickly realized that I needed to get my act together and find a new lawyer. Determined to rigorously vet my potential replacement attorney, I visited several websites and personally met with eight different high quality firms, many of which seemed very competent and determined to help me. However, Michael Kraut was the only one who seemed willing to go above and beyond. He told me to follow my instincts and hire the right lawyer for me. Well I did just that, hired him, and am so glad that I did. He was attentive and in control from the get go. On June 23, 2011, after side-swiping a parked SUV and leveling a stop sign, i was arrested and booked into the WONDERFUL Beverly Hills Jail (no joke- was comparable to a recent stay at the Beverly Hilton) on suspicion of DUI…for the second time. This would have been my second DUI charge, resulting in a large fine, 9 months of DUI class, community service, and possible jail time, had i not been blessed with meeting Attorney Michael Kraut. After my first and ONLY DUI (thanks to Michael), i realized i had a drinking problem and sought help. After a few months of being sober and an active AA member, i was accused of being under the influence of prescription meds while driving (Still a DUI), as they "found" my prescription bottles hidden on the cushion of passenger seat ;). I have since tapered off ALL my medications. As you can imagine, after working so very hard to get and maintain sobriety, and be booked for taking medications prescribed to me for anxiety, i was furious and very scared. After a quick online search, really good reviews, and a more than proficient understanding of DUI charges, i met Michael Kraut. He's a straight shooter. He will tell you the facts, inform you of all possibilities, but also assure you that he will make things better. AND BOY, CAN HE!!! As i and Mr. Kraut felt the charges were not valid, and should not be treated as a second offense, he stood by me for a YEAR! I didn't have to show up to court until the last day, but would get phone call updates on a regular basis, letting me know what he was working on and what they were trying. In the end, i ended up with a "Dry Wreckless Driving" charge, a 3 month driving school (Half the time of a first DUI charge), no com. service, and no jail time.
