The AMG Firm Stands behind their mission statement of Justice, Integrity and Reputation. I came to them with a very high profile, public and extremely sensitive case. They guided me with expertise and care. I hope I never find myself in a situation like this again but if I do or any of my colleagues do they will be the firm that I call. A big shout out to partner Marcus Spiegel.

In 2019, when I found myself in the position of needing to hire an attorney, I looked for the best of the best to take my case. The Allred firm has an unmatched reputation for excellence across the board and I knew they would do the best job on my behalf. Christina Cheung was compassionate and reassuring throughout the entire process and I felt confident knowing that she was my representation. She gave me real time updates and precise information to both put my mind at ease and help me form realistic expectations. I never felt frustrated or worried because I knew that I had one of the best attorneys doing everything she could to work on my matter. By the time I realized I needed a lawyer, I was so overwhelmed at the thought of having to find one. I started reaching out to several attorneys in Houston, and it was like pulling teeth to get one to return my phone call. I felt so lost...I am the type of person who is on top of things...always prepared and always organized; and I was completely helpless here. Within 24 hours of reaching out, Nathan and Gloria were on a conference call with me on a Saturday morning. From the first moment, I felt safe and looked out for. They listened and sincerely wanted to help me. Once I started pursuing my case, Chrissie started working with me. She was fantastic! I try to get things right, but sometimes I’m wrong...and when I am, I admit it. I was wrong about Gloria Allred. It was a humbling realization. Honestly, even as a journalist, I had an opinion of her that was shared by many; you hear “Gloria Allred” and you think money. (Probably because she is so successful in winning huge settlements for her clients) I was so pleasantly surprised to find out she is incredibly compassionate, kind, and empathetic. I was right about one thing: she’s smart as a whip. She was in New York waiting for the Harvey Weinstein verdicts when we talked on the phone about what’s happening to Dylan. I was impressed with how much time she spent with me while all that was going on. Up until the moment we walked into that press conference Friday, she made sure Dylan still wanted to speak. After the press conference she spent a long time talking to him, preparing him for haters. She brought up Martin Luther King and Susan B Anthony. She took us into her private office and showed us some really cool historical legal “artifacts” she had, and briefly walked us through the fight for women’s right to vote. She told Dylan, speaking as the “annoyingly honest grandmother,” how she thought he was a leader and commended him for standing up. She seemed genuine in her praise, not like she was patronizing a child. In that moment, I didn’t see her as a big shot lawyer, I saw her as a grandma. 🙂 So why Gloria? We wanted to make a statement, stand up for something, and send a strong message. I know people only read headlines and some don’t realize we are not suing. (Hence the stupid money comments) We are asking the federal government to investigate discrimination in a public school. We are subjecting ourselves to criticism, I know. Those of you who know me and those who also know Dylan, know our values. If being called names for speaking up eventually prevents someone else from having to endure unfair treatment because of their ethnicity—I’m ok with that. And I love my son so much for taking that chance too.🥰 On that day, Gloria said something to us that stuck with me. She said, “when people call you names, you know you’ve won. Because name-calling is the lowest form of an argument. They’ve got nothing else, so that’s why they call you names.” 💪🏼 Even if nothing else happens, l’m glad we got the word out there. Asians are not a punching bag. We have a voice, and we’re going to use it. And there was NO ONE more capable of helping me get that message out there, than Gloria Allred. Pro Bono. 💜

I was referred to Marcus Spiegel at AMG to represent me in a very stressful matter. Marcus was experienced, attentive, compassionate, and realistic. In addition to being a good lawyer, Marcus figuratively held my hand through the entire process, and it was a great comfort to know that he had my back during what was the hardest situation I've gone through in my life. I had a few options when selecting representation and I am so grateful I went with Allred, Maroko and Goldberg. They were extremely knowledgable, tactful and powerful when exercising my legal rights and exuded sympathy towards me throughout my entire case. Prior to hiring them I had no exposure to the legal system and was extremely nervous about getting justice. I never felt pressured or skewed to make certain choices and was always encouraged to speak the truth and just be myself. Through them my voice was represented in an accurate and honest manner. The entire legal process was so daunting to me and the advice Nathan shared was always practical. I couldn't see it at the time but that advice provided the best results. There were times due to my inexperience when I wasn't sure if we were taking the right steps but instead of dismissing me, Nathan taught me and helped me learn my legal rights. I recommend anyone looking for an experienced attorney who knows the law and truly cares about protecting the rights of victims and achieving a successful outcome to go with Nathan. It's extremely admirable that this firm solely represents plaintiffs and it's evident to me now that it's because they only believe in being the voice of victims. During times of high anxiety and stress in my case both Renee and Dolores always assured me every step of the way, which put me at ease. Their attentiveness and communication throughout this whole process was superb. I never felt alone. When I was struggling to stay strong they were so sensitive and aware of how difficult of a time I was having. They checked in with me regularly and made sure I was okay. It truly felt like I had family with me during my trial because of the humanity they expressed. I was so pleasantly surprised to have had their compassion and strong presence during one of the most difficult times of my life. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose this firm a thousand times over with out a doubt! I will be forever grateful and indebted to Renee, Dolores and Nathan for their diligence and hard work. Thank you infinitely!

When Mr. Spiegel tells something, he really means it. I called his law firm 2 days after I got laid off to figure out my options. After I explained the situation, he told me that I do have a case and asked me to come to his office right away. After we discussed all of my options and strategy, he told me to "GO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PERSONAL LIFE AND HEALTH AND I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR LEGAL LIFE, I WILL DO MY BEST TO GET YOU WHAT YOU DESERVE" and he took me downstairs to buy me lunch, we sat and ate together. That meant so much to me. It was a relief, I knew I can trust this man. He is so thorough and will explain you every single details, he will educate you about the process and your options as you go.
