In September of 2015, a devastating apartment fire caused me to lose nearly everything I had. After having my life endangered, I was left without a home, clothes, cherished family heirlooms, medication or even car keys. To make matters worse, the apartment property managers attempted to stonewall and manipulate me. I was beyond scared and despondent, for I had been the victim of outlandish negligence, and the people responsible for that negligence were doing everything they could to cover their tracks and even profit on this tragedy.
