Hired Aaron to represent me for helping me with Child Support. We agreed to pay via retainer. I did this only because I didn't want to be hit with a huge bill at the end of my case. He agreed. Hyped up what he was going to do. We're going to file this and do this. Making it sound like he was going fight for me and really help. Dragged it on and on to only charge me almost 9k for filling a form. He had charged us for a company to look into where my court documents were sent to show that Child Services used an address I was no longer living at only to then have my wife call to find out but still charged us almost $300 for that "service". He ended up doing nothing but filling out a form and I think only talking to Child Support services once. I don't know where he is getting these great reviews from.

I was incredibly fortunate to have found Arran Scott Treadway, Esq. to represent me in my divorce and custody case. Not only did Arran get me the custody orders I wanted because he flushed out the truth for the Court, but he fought like a Spartan against the other side for almost 2 years with victory after victory after victory. The other side hired a Beverly Hills Law Firm with tons of staff and secretarial support. This did not help them. It only cost them more money and Arran made them pay a significant portion of my attorney's fees. My ex spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with the other side only to have to pay my amazing attorney a good part of my own fees. From start to finish, Arran explained everything to me down to the tee. It was truly an amazing experience. It was even educational. Arran is a specialist. I came out of all of it knowing that I had won because of Arran's immeasurable efforts and the results I personally experienced. Arran talked and walked me through every step of the way, every day. I look back on it and I feel blessed. I not only got all of that to which I was legally entitled, but even more due to Arran's tireless efforts. Arran literally beat the other side. The guy is nothing short of an intelligent, warrior. If you need someone to kill it and win decisively, hire Mr. Treadway. If you want a shoulder to cry on, call your mother. This guy is a serious winner. Anybody who would say otherwise, doesn't get what it takes to win or is just upset with their own circumstances. Arran Scott Treadway is THE MAN. I would highly recommend calling THE TREADWAY LAW FIRM, to seek out aggressive representation in the area of Family Law with Mr. Treadway and his team. He truly is the best.

The specter of family court can be rather daunting for a single father. Particularly a single father who’s never hired an attorney before. One month after completion of my hearing, and with time to reflect on the process, I am grateful that I decided to have Arran Treadway represent me. I view my experience with Arran as a personal trainer type scenario. He will tell you what you need to do to succeed. Arran will also guide you through the process, but you’ll still have to do some work. However if you follow his guidance and “coaching”, and give him the information he needs, you will enhance your prospects for a successful outcome. In my case greatly. Finally, Arran’s not cheap. But for those who know the difference between price and value, he is worth it.

Mr. Arran Treadway is wonderful. I think the prices are a little high, but that's part of the reason that people become professional attorneys. Arran Treadway is extremely professional and truly put my wants and needs first. He is very honest and isn't afraid to speak the truth. He will listen to what you are going for, and be absolutely realistic and helpful with his professional advice. If I call and need to speak to him, he is either available-or he gets back to me the same day! This case is about my son. I live in Arlington, Texas and my son lives in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Treadway is able to speak to me and handle things very respectively, regardless of the fact I am halfway across the country. Mr. Treadway calls me every morning that we have court, about an hour before-and gives me an update on when he will be arriving and confirms with me the courtroom, and instructs me on where to go. I have been really messed with by the opposing party over the past 5 1/2 years, and Mr. Treadway shows no intimidation of them or their attorney. He knows the law and speaks what is best for his client, and the child. I am truly grateful for Mr. Treadway, and quite frankly wouldn't want anyone else representing me. Mr. Treadway will go far as an attorney. All my anxiety and scared feelings go away when Mr. Treadway is speaking for me. He is efficient, professional, and truly cares about his clients.

I found Atty. Alix on google and just tried to inquire about my immigration status. She was very helpful as she tried to explain everything to me that is accordance to the law and her experience as an immigration attorney. It gave me a breather because I can totally depend on her guidance and expertise and not to merely depend on hearsays or what we read on the internet. I highly recommend this attorney as she is very prompt and respond quickly on emails. I wish her more luck and success!

From the first call with Anna, I felt supported and heard, which was important to me given the nature of my case. Anna was realistic and honest in providing her opinion, while still maintaining empathy and taking great care to make sure my asks were represented. She navigated my case meticulously, and I felt empowered to have someone of her calibre by my side. As a young person with no experience, Anna spent many phone calls working through questions I had and explaining the nuances of different elements I was confused about. She always had suggestions and explanations which I appreciated, and helped me understand the rhythm of the process. We were able to reach a speedy conclusion and I am so grateful to have found such a wonderful attorney despite the circumstances that led me to her!

In addition to being exceptional at her job and incredibly professional, Anna handled my case with great empathy and patience. I'm sure a lot of the people she represents come into the situation with a lot of stress and anxiety - I sure did. She walked me through the process, laid out my options, and answered every single one of my questions with zero judgement. It's been an interesting "silver lining" to have such delightful interactions with Anna in the midst of all of this. Having Anna advocate for me brought so much peace into my life during a time of stress and I can't recommend her enough. Thank you again for your expertise and time!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Los Angeles, California?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
